Hi all,
my mates servis washer broke the other day, it wouldent start, she gave it to me to fix and keep (keep if she haddent gotten a new washer), I am confused with whats up with it, the machine turns on, the mains pilot lamp comes on and the start button flashes (symbolizing that its ready to wash) and when its set to a cycle only the option buttons work and it wont start at all. Ive tried a door lock and it hasnt worked, anyone know how to fix it?
Cheers
Tom :)

Is the door actually locking? The flashing light means it's NOT ready to start! If it's the same as my Servis you have to reset it after each wash. With the machine switched on you turn the knob to the "stop" position and the light should go off. If it doesn't go off you can turn it one click to the right then back to stop. Once that light is off it is ready to set a programme, then press the "start" button. After that you have to wait a few seconds before the light comes back on continuously and the machine starts.

Nope, the door doesnt lock, when a wash is selected the quick wash option comes on but it can be turned off. On this machine (seen it in use from new) when the dial is on a wash cycle the start light stays off until the washer is started.

It could be a problem with the door pecker or its spring. You could try putting it on a spin and using a small screwdriver to activate the door switch. You poke the screwdriver a short way into the square hole then push it to your right, then press the start button.
Have you tried to reset the light like I said? On mine if the light is out and you press the "start" button with the door open (faking a door fault) it starts flashing after waiting about half a minute for the door to lock.

Hi Fido, I have treid to reset the washer to no avail, I will have a look at the pecker, Im hoping to get it fixed and back to her as I am reserving wash house space for a washer dryer :)

With the light flashing it won't attempt to lock the door. You could check the motor brushes.

Take the belt off and check if it's the drum that's stiff or the motor. Motor brush video:

Servis

have you looked at the PCB particularly the connector block. Servis machines are notorious for this connector melting and often rendering the PCB scrap because part of it burns up. That is a common non start issue. The machine powers up, lights up but won't do anything else. Just a thought of something to look at.

Right, the machine now powers up, but, when it is powered up, the extra rinse button (I think thats what it is) flashes briefly before the start button flashes and the machine still wont start.
