Hi guys, Just wanted to know what might be a decent price to offer the current owner of this machine? It's a 1963 Simpson Pope Fluid Drive that has been restored to full working capacity. I was thinking of $200 - $300 AU dollars, so about $150 - $200 US. Would this seem unreasonable, considering it's in perfect working order and these machines are getting very rare here in Oz. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Leon |

Hey Westy... Thanks for the thoughts. I'll make the offer and see what he says. The Blue attachment serves two purposes....one as you said i'm pretty sure and the other is the as the lint filter. It was good to watch it in action...i was quite surprised at the turnover of the load in the machine and was pretty quiet too. Cheers Leon |

That machine really reminds me of the early '60's Hotpoint machines sold here in the states. Although the console looks a lot more solid than the Hotpoints did, and that filter looks familiar too----like a Bradford maybe? Thanks for sharing the photos----very interesting! |

Well...i think i'll make an offer and see what if he'll take it. GANSKY: You are such a comedian! The modern Simpson he has is pretty crappy. ARRROOOHH: I know the machine you're thinking of: ive seen a couple in the past. UNIMATIC: You are correct....the transmission is EXACTLY like Speed Queens of the era. A couple more pics for you. I even took a short video of it washing and spinning....will post when i can. Leon |
