Lots of goodies there!

If anyone wants a stainless steel basket for your KitchenAid or other "vintage" direct-drive washer, he has one for sale. They look real purdy with the KA agitator in blue!

I'd like to get that basket, and have a use for it, but seller says local pick-up only, no shipping.  Doesn't work for me.

There Are Ways Around That

Have dealt with eBay sellers who stated "no shipping" but were open to suggestions.

If the thing has it's orginal box and packing material ask if the seller will pack. Then find someone with an UPS account who will send a reverse label to seller. Basically it arranges collection of something to be delivered to UPS account holder's address. Businesses and others use this method all the time to arrange customer returns.

Next contact local shippers such as Craters and Freighters, or even U-Ship to see about having them collect and ship.

Half the battle here is already won in the the seller is on eBay and thus you can pay via credit card/PayPal. Far eaiser then dealing with a CL or some such seller miles away.

Oh, you could also ask if a local member would collect and ship item, or at least hold until you can arrange shipment.

You're right, it might still be possible. If that basket does have the original box, it probably would need additional packing material around it to prevent it from being damaged in standard shipping. I have an account with FedEx and that has made things easier many times for shipping odd items. It's much easier for a seller to just drop the item off with the buyer's name and account number and FedEx will pack and ship without any hassle for the seller.

When we've shipped vacuums, washer parts, etc. around the country the FedEx account is very helpful for that as well. The downside is that it makes "Yes, I want that!" way too easy and then you end up with a houseful of ______. LOL
