Congratulations

It looks like a match, possibly, to my Creda. On the front of the dispenser drawer it reads:
Creda
SupaSpeed 1000
Economy Series

Then over the top of the control panel next to the drawer it reads:
EcoWash

The model number tag reads:
17064E
CHA242

If your dryer is a match to my washer, it is OLD, but your dryer looks to be in good shape, just like my washer. I hope you have years of trouble-free service from your "new-to-you" Creda dryer. I think someone in the know said that these machines were made by Hotpoint, possibly from parts they rejected for Hotpoint machines.

You have the same Superspeed that my grandparents had from 1990ish to 1998. My grandma told me it was a good machine, one of the most reliable washer's they have ever had! Please could you post a picture of it Tom? Thank you.

1985 - 1990ish Hoover Electron of some sort.
1990 - 1998 Creda Supaspeed 17064E
1998 - 2002 Hotpoint WM72N
2002 - 2004 Hotpoint WMA36N
2004 - 2007 Hotpoint 9605 - was in house my grandparents bought in 2004. The WMA36N was put in the garage.
2007 - 2008 Hotpoint WMA36N (9605 died)
2008 - present Hoover Optima OPH714D

I think the Compact 3 was a '70s model. Have you got the model number?

Vaguely Remember Reading Something About Creda W&D's

Back when they were sold in the USA.

IIRC they or at least the dryer was made by GE and neither was rated highly by consumer type magazines. The dryer in particular IIRC had some problems.

Remember seeing them in shops and they were usually with other "compact" laundry appliances popular at the time; Malber and Equator, but haven't seen them new nor for resale in ages.

Nice dryer here, looks in good condition too. the Creda-made Hotpoint compacts didn't appear until mid-1991. Their own models before then were unrelated but they weren't exactly the best looking models made lol. My Nana has a full size Debonair model from the mid-80's which she still has 2 this day, which just goes 2 show how well built those Creda dryers were. :)
