I just wanted to share my excitement with you for having taken delivery of a new washing machine. This is a Hoover Dynamic 8 Pulse, a front loading washer which features a system for mixing water + detergent and uses multiple jets to spray the solution over the clothes.
I'm over the moon with it especially since I've been longing for some time to get one of these. I finally decided to place an order nearly 2 months ago but due to an out-of-stock issue, the retailer decided to cancel my order. Then I thought, I might as well leave it to fate and forget about getting a new washer. Several weeks later, another retailer (catalogue) was offering me a discount on their merchandise and it happend to stock these 8 Pulse machines... I felt terribly seduced and I couldn't resist ordering a Hoover Dynamic once again. It arrived after a few weeks but there was something odd about the packaging... well, it looked battled! On removing the polystyrene I immediately noticed the latch for the filter flap (a piece of plastic) was sitting at the bottom of the packaging. Either than that, the machine looked in excellent conditions. I proceeded to take out the 4 transit bolts which held the tub still and I noticed that they were all bent. I didn't think much of it until I tried the machine, still unplumbed with 1 dry cotton sheet in the drum: my heart sunk! It was shaking like a XII scale earthquake (please take me with a pinch of salt here) and it sounded like a tractor on a bad day. I rang the retailer asking for a refund, but they persuaded me to give it another go with a replacement (I must say... it didn't take too much convincing). The replacement was meant to arrive on the 09-01-13, but maybe Santa interfered and I just got it last week... yippeeee! Anyway, the one I'm keeping, is just fine, and what a relief that is!! Happy new year every1 ;-) PS: Link to my new washer below: |

That's a neat machine! I really like the jets, though not sure how far that would reach with a full load. It seems to use a nice amount of water as well. Good luck and enjoy your new machine :) |

Thanks for your feedback. I can't agree more on the 'fun to watch' bit! It also accomplishes some unusual movement with the drum every now and again which looks a bit like a nervous tick or maybe I can compare it to the little jerk some top loaders do while changing gear... but it has no gears... perhaps she's just camera shy!
About the jets reaching the top of the drum with a full load, I haven't tried it filled to capacity yet... however some of the jets seem to squirt quite high: I'll try and really stuff it silly one of these days! Nrones, happy 4th anniversary to your Candy GO5... wishing her many more years of honourable service. As you said, Nextra is alive indeed, just this morning she completed a boil wash with white cotton sheets. Thanks again ;-) |

Hey... nice to hear from you, I'm not telling Nextra that you called her that though... she's very sensitive about her cycles... although she doesn't seem to mind her early retirement :-D
This new Hoover washes exeptionally well (maybe even better than Nextra... I'm not telling her that either), but I'm still getting used to certain things, such as the lack of a prewashless boilwash cycle and the lack of some interim temperatures (like 50, 70 etc), and I'm trying to find my way around the programmes to pick the one that suits my needs best. Having said that, it still gets away with it managing excellent results even on slight lower temperatures. Little snag with it so far, the excessive water consumption on standard cycles with dark clothes, which I overcame by using non-standard cycles where the sensors are sluggish. I also noticed that Nextra handles very small loads quicker and more efficiently... so... she's currently being recruited again. TTFN ;-) |
