Hi everyone,
Can I put the Roto-swirl agitator in my new Kenmore set?

The roto swirl won't work in a direct drive machine from what I understand. Plus it may cause too much strain on the drivetrain.

150 swirls per minute?

The first Dual Action Agitator while in development did not have flexible fins on the bottom and in testing was referred to as the "Golden Gobbler".

I love it -- the 'Golden Gobbler'...

As to belt-drive agitators in DD machines, sadly, no, none of them will fit. The agitator shafts on the DD transmissions are too short. If an adaptor could be made, or something to lengthen the DD trans shaft, then possibly. There's no telling what all that fin surface area on a BD agitator would do to the DD gearcase.

I think there is more curvature on the bottom of a DD basket, that is the part underneath the agitator shirt, which might cause issues for the wide shirted BD agitators like the Penta-Swirl and Penta-Vane, but some of the BD agitators would be very amusing in a DD machine! I think a couple gallons of heavy cream and a BD straight-vane agitator on fast agitate in a DD would make whipped cream in no time.

How about the RotoFlex agi out of my Lady? Wow! For some sick reason, the image in my head is somewhat funny...

Just imagine a Whirlpool Super Surgilator out of a belt drive in a direct drive machine. Dirt would have nowhere to hide lol.

A fast-stroke DD machine fitted with a Roto-Swirl would look like a scene from The Perfect Storm...or maybe one of the Saw films, LOL.

I think the RS agitators would be neat to try in a DD-might actually be more gentle than the Triple action agitator. The one I used to have-the Triple action agitator could be called the "White Gobbler!"
