Ok guys - the day has arrived that I was dreading. The timer for my 69 GE seems to have bit the dust. First thing I noticed was that it would only wash with hot water, no matter what the temp setting was set at - it would not energize the cold solenoid. Now, it doesn't want to agitate but it spins. I was able to fill the machine and then it does nothing so I am spinning out the water and will have to just dry my clothes and wash them elsewhere. So my question is - can this timer be repaired or dose anyone have a timer to replace it with?

There are 3 or 4 leaf switches . One of them does control agitate and spin. I think they are removable without taking the whole timer apart. I think it's switch # 2 or 3. Also there should be a label glued to the back of the control panel that might help. Not sure about the hot only wash.

the leaf switches for sale on ebay, they are different for different years, you should try to dig out a SM for your model so you can get a parts number, also Larry at Modern has some switches available, what models I'm not sure.

can we see a full pic of your control panel, and a pic of the timer?.....

I can look if I have a timer, or pieces we can switch over and replace....

if all else fails, I am wondering if we can do a complete control panel change-over....

also do you have the standard tub, or the largest capacity?

just some thoughts if we can help out here....
