this is so cool, I love the stacked design, so many ideas of what to do with something like this...... useful idea if they have other matching components, like double ovens, refrigerator, even a washer/dryer.....

Fagor.com is offering a few cabinets right now, willing to bet more are on the way, and most likely fit their washer/dryer combo in one of them....
this one is for a cooktop, and to hold all accessories CLICK HERE TO GO TO Yogitunes's LINK |

AJMadison has the washer/dryer combo around here, and running in the areas of $999.00 for white, and $1099.00 for Silver....
these combinations of cabinets and integrated appliances, in stainless no less, could work for numerous applications, stand alone, or lined up against one wall... it would definately give you a custom industrial/commercial look.....very hi-tech CLICK HERE TO GO TO Yogitunes's LINK |

The refrigerator reminds me of something similar I saw in the now defunct Home Depot Expo's, but I can't recall the sq.footage. I like the vertical concept, as long as the counterspace isn't a premium.
There's a lot of info online, but not sure if it's enough for whoever is interested: www.fagoramerica.com/my_fagor/tec... FYI - you can incorporate other appliances into their units, from Fagor's online info...just need to match their dimensions to whatever dishwasher, etc. you're wanting to install. Just curious - who would find 11.21 ft3 adequate, especially if this is including the freezer section? Not being picky, just asking...seems perfect for the bachelor/bachelorette's. :-) |

And Overphil is the winner!
This sort of unit is very common over here, and actually has been for getting on for 30 years. On the plus side you do get a very integrated look for your kitchen as it looks just like another cabinet, on the minus - the footprint of the unit is 2ft x 2ft. The fridge freezer sits inside the cabinet so there has to be a ventilation , and dirt gathering, space all around. So you have in effect what I believe you guys would call an "apartment" refrigerator and often an even smaller freezer. These are often installed intended to cater for a full family, dont ask me how. This concept is not new, I believe Siemens were doing it about 10 years ago and Ikea has been making "freestanding" cabinets of this type for many years. With some thought it would be possible to make most appliances be raised up like the dishwasher, but definatly NOT a washer or washer drier which would shake the cabinet to bits first time it went on to spin. I agree with the fridge size....but there are other options, go with a bigger SxS, or a possible "all fridge" and a seperate "freezer", or two units, since the doors reverse you could give the appearance of a SxS.....
this is just a unique configuration, I would like to see a whole kitchen with these incorporated....possible blank cabinets for food?....what I like would be for all the tall cabinets along one wall, and the counter height ones along the other....basically no overhead cabinets.....would be great along a wall of windows....or as an island |

Al: Definitely a YouTube video: "Fun with Vibrations".
Martin: I have the same vision, having come from a house that had so many overhead cabinets, it's too busy and cluttered looking. I like your idea - especially if one is lucky enough to have a kitchen with many windows over the sink and flanking countertop spaces..or an island that has some pantry space included. I've seen a kitchen where a larger cabinet with x-amount of doors(at least two or three)provides the storage that overhead cabinets provide; definitely sounding like what you were describing - sometimes called an "un-kitchen. I like high-tech blended with contemporary and somehow, vintage. I don't think a muck of design exists, yet. :-) At least ideas ....are cheap. (check out sixth, seventh and maybe eighth photo down from top of the attached link..nice open designs for kitchens). CLICK HERE TO GO TO ovrphil's LINK |

That is a nice house....so many nice styles and ideas, and like a combo of vintage and yet modern.....really cool.....
so many times you see a show and someone will mention a kitchen 15/20 years old, and will state that its dated.....a kitchen 60 years old and falling apart is dated, IMHO, some people can't see past the idea of a few updates, it can be fantastic.....what's the point of buying a vintage/victorian type of home, maybe 50 or so years old, and puting in a super modern kitchen or design to the whole home.... sorry, but I think the home's style as originally built, should keep that design.... if you want a modern kitchen, look for a modern home......same if you have a victorian home...it should be decorated for the time frame of its being built.... I know of a home, who I knew the original owner, was sold when she passed, and the new owner is keeping the house exactly the same as she had it.....granted all the furniture was redone, and new paint and wallpaper....and done as close as possible to the original style.......the kitchen is fantastic, and the room off the kitchen houses the wringer and laundrytub.....to keep it all looking for the time period.... now, down in the basement and in hidden areas in the house, are modern features and conviences, in the basement is a big fridge and freezer, and FL washer and dryer.....he wanted it that way so the house stays original.... I like stuff like this....but that's me |
