Not your average Laundromat

Wow! They obviously put a lot of thought into The Laundry Cafe. Nice place and nice guys.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I wish we had something like this around here as it would be great for taking large items to be washed. The few laundromats we did have are long gone now as they apparently weren't getting enough business anymore.

I know this was a marketing film for Heubsch...but it was awesome to hear how pumped the guys were about their awesome laundromat.

I'd go so far as to say The Laundry Cafe would be a destination spot if AW had vacation packages.

Another interesting find, Malcolm; thanks!

Fun Visit

I agree. It would be a fun place to visit. Right up there with visiting the Speed Queen factory in Ripon.

VERY NICE-like how the owners assists the cusyomers with their items when they arrive and help them put the cleaned clothes back in their cars when the patron leaves-but amusing how some patrons use black plastic TRASH bags as laundry bags!Like the features of the place-TVs,computers,coffee machine, etc.Things to do while your laundry is being done-or you can watch your machine if you wish.

Great Space..

Now lets combine that with a Vintage Laundry Museum and a Retro Diner while you wait for your laundry......

Great idea

There is a neat laundrette here in the uk not far from me in Durham , its a laundrette / cafe with lots of old washing memorabilia that often holds musical performances and poetry readings etc. it's located in an old cinema hence it's name. Would be a great location for a washing meet up if there was only room to fill it with a few old washers!

Try the link it needs adobe though so won't work on I pads etc

Richard

This one has been a combined cafe and laundrette in Salamanca Place in Hobart, Tasmania for years.

Great coffee shop, fab food and certainly combines a couple of my great loves - coffee and laundry!

Hi Chris, looks great, have you used the washers yourself or just as the cafe? I could see this working, a lot more little laundry services are springing up, times are a changing, perhaps with the upsurge in apartment ownership these place fit the bill greatly...

Actually.

I have.

I've had holidays in Tasmania in 2009 and 2010. We needed to do laundry so made a meal of it, so to speak.

Love it

Great idea! Since I cannot(or should say will not) put a queen size comforter and matress pad in my Kenmore top loader, it's off to the laundry I go every so often. Closest one has all of 2 really large capacity machines so sometimes there is a wait. And pretty much all of the laundromats around here are your typical, well typical laundromats. I'd drive all the way across town to wash them if we had a place like that.
