Guess what I found while stolling around th www?
It was an Opel Frigiadaire on German e- bay! Did Fr. belong to GM?

Yep...Frigidaire was a product of GM until 1979-80. Since Adam Opel is GM's German subsidiary and the comparable fridge here would have been badged "Product of General Motors USA", the emblem on the German eBay offering makes sense.

There must have been an urgent need for fridges in post war time. But I also saw that they already sold their products in the early twenties.
