sing a hymn or dance the hula... Whatever it takes to direct the spiritual energies toward my island home.(short of human sacrifice! no need to get carried away!) I have decided to begin in earnest, the search for a classic Automatic washer here on Maui. I know the odds are against me, the way the salt air tries to spoil everything but I live in hope. I had even thought of running some sort of contest here to tie in some free publicity for Appliance Garage. I now have a big shop full of tools so I am in a unique position to have a collection. I don't know what was available here in the past. Sears has been here forever. I've seen maytags and GE. Maybe some one brought over a poppy Frigidaire 1-18 when they moved here in the '70s. Hope I find something cool because the HE3t is beginning to bore me (but I don't think dennis is gonna let me buy a new washer EVERY year) Please implore the ancient washer Gods to smile big toothy grins on me.

Chanting for 'ya ...

Good luck ... certainly, there have to be some classic appliances there?? Are a lot of laundry appliances kept outside or in a covered patio type situation there?

When I lived in Oregon, a lot machines were kept in the garage. I was always afraid I was going to drive into them!! :-)

The first thing that came to mind for a chant....actually its a spell: Substitutiary Locomotion. If you do it properly and sing it with the vim and vigor that Angela Landsbury did in the Disney Flick "Bedknobs and Broomsticks". You will have those washers finding you! If you dont have a clue as to what I am talking about, well I suggest you rent the movie for some comical relaxation. I hope this link works and you can hear the clip. I improvised a way to add a sound link. I am sure there is some better way.....but I hope this works, may take a minute to load......Tom

A Great Chant!

That's very good, Tom ... if that doesn't get the appliance spirits moving in the right direction, nothing will!!!!
