First washer I want to add is my favourite one - Candy GrandOPlus. It is the only washer I know the data you required precisely :)

It was assembled in factory on March 18th 2010, unpacked and first time used June 9th :)

Whoops!

Forgot to mention the Servis is 34.

Here's my other Servis that doesn't work - Servis Quartz Multivent 262. It's 39.

And my pride and joy.

I'm still unsure of the dates for both.

The Bosch WTA2000 is now gone but I still have the WM64. WM64 is 1998.

And sorry, the 262 is 29!

Cheers.

Chris.

Recently bought Zanussi EW1007 from October 1987. This is an Electricty Board Special. I have used it on a spin cycle a few times, but haven't yet done a wash in it. Sorry for the shadow overcast in the photo!

P.S - Aquarius800, I would say the 3305 is 24, not 34, so it would be 1989, not 1979!

My beloved Hoovermatic, just replaced the wash belt as the the wash action was slowing and lagging, back to full speed now though!

I got this just after moving out from the share house into the granny flat out the back with my partner matt.

This pic was in the granny flat, I had a neutral brown theme on the wall opposite so the Hoovermatic looked really good there.

Built in the late 70's/80's i would imagine???

When we got to the Granny Flat, there was this Hoover Commodore in the laundry, worked ok but had a lid switch issue which I couldn't fix. We were paying off the Electrolux at that point and this was just a stand in anyway, died quicker than expected though so had a borrow a Simpson top loader for two months to get by lol.

The Simpson I had to borrow from the friend that I gave the Frigidaire to. I actually really liked this machine :-)

I had repainted the laundry alcove by this point to my 'neutral brown' tone.

I had also just ordered some Gain and Downy off Amazon, my two favourite american detergents. The green topped Downy is a gorgeous scent :-)

Hoover Commodore

We had a fairly similar machine from around 1992 - (Feb) 2009, when ours developed a slight leak/electrical fault and was stopping mid-spin. The old repairman condemned the machine - stating it was not worth fixing. The machine was also sqeaking, squawking and making other odd noises during agitation.

Suds save was used a lot in the early years, as it was using rain water, which was in scarce supply at our old, old house! In Perth, we had the inner or outer (cannot remember which) drum replaced around 2003, as the machine left rusty bits on the clothes. I think I still have the towels in use from then, which have those spots on them! They actually looked more sinister than what they were. Lol.

Our old machine, after this one was a Simpson SWT802, HE. One with practically no holes in the wash drum. The recirculation pump died/seized sometime in late 2009, but the washer showed no error codes (Beeping/Blinking lights). We had a "daughter board" fitted in April 2011, after it decided to stop working. We toyed with the idea of getting a Maytag at this point - but ended up not, and got a Miele in September 2012 instead. The Simpson had a notorious "Getting Stuck" phase, where it would fill 1/4 of the way, stop for 5 minutes, then start filling again. It didn't matter whether you used Auto or manual water levels, it still did this AND would sense the water level. Yeah, so much for "Manual Control..."

This is the machine - Linked is the thread I made detailing this machine some time back last year:

Money Shot

The wash bowl and agitator - the only parts of the machine that were semi decent...

Outer tub is/was plastic, pump was cheap and electric, control panel was plastic AND exposed to steam escaping through the lid when used on Hot washes... Oh dear!

And Now for your Pleasure:

The Miele W5741, Honeycomb Care. Lovely selection of cycles, with options for a Short Washer, Water Plus (Extra Rinse, Higher Water level or both: Note that I'm not sure about the higher water level) and "Quiet" mode.

Temperature range is from Cold - 20º - 30º - 40º - 50º - 60º - 70º - 90º

Spins are from No Spin - Rinse/Hold - 400 - 600 - 800 - 1000 - 1200 - 1400

On some cycles, spins under 800rpm give an extra rinse.

Photo shows the machine washing a load of towels at 60º, Cottons Cycle and Water Plus. Used these shots in my photo album.

I am sure your Simpson T/L was also sold under the Electrolux name. The selling point being it was a cross between a solid drum and traditional drum with holes....the machine would fill up, water would slowly trickle out of the few holes in the drum and be recirculated saving water by not completely filling the outer tub with water.

Anyway....here is my washer, 2008 Miele W1613, my 13th automatic and the one I have owned the longest. A lot of my previous machines were second hand and I sold them on when I got bored ( never had the place to collect ). I have had a few new machines that were duds, broke down within a short time. I love this washer as it's fast, washes brilliantly and is economical to boot! We bought it a week before we got married in 2008, I didn't think Hubby would go for a Miele BUT my obsession must have transferred to him momentarily as he did some research online.....he said he wanted a washer that would last and wanted a Miele! Cost us £649 from John Lewis with 5yr guarantee. Those in the know will notice the machine is doing and Express 40 wash with water plus selected....this was a load of worn once t shirts and joggers worn in the evening so just needed a freshen up....honest!

Automatic Plus

Washer111. Can you describe this program I see on your machine. What does it do to make it automatic(as if the other programs aren't) and to make it plus?

The "Automatic" programme is for washing medium loads of mixed cottons/synthetics. The machine will sense what fabric makes up the majority of the load and alter the drum rotation, wash time and spin speed accordingly. For example, if the load is mostly cotton the machine will use the intensive wash rhythm, longer interim spins and a longer final spin. If the machine decides the load is mostly synthetic it will do a gentler wash rhythm, introduce a cool down phase at the end of the wash, have a higher rinse level and shorter interim and final spin speeds. The programme is only really designed for lightly soiled fabrics, it only has three temperature options, cold, 30C and 40C and has just two rinses (unless no spin is selected then it will do three). The final spin is limited to 1200rpm on my machine which is a 1300rpm spin model. You cannot select any options with this programme either ie: prewash or extra rinse.

It's not a programme I use often, I think I'd use it more if it did a cool down phase whatever wash action is used as if you are washing mixed fabrics the synthetics can become very creased if a mostly cotton load is detected.

Here is a youtube clip ( not mine) showing the Automatic programme with the intensive wash rhythm. Hope that helps.

Indesit IWD5123. Purchased in Sept 2011. This machine was sold 4 months later as we never liked it due to the excess vibration and also the machine only does 2 rinses and there is no extra rinse facility. The 5kg drum was pretty small.

AEG OKO Lavamat 72640 purchased in Sept 2002, lasted for 9 years. Nice machine but it had a tendency to bang a lot and the drum hit the glass door when starting spins, due to poor suspension legs and the door seal rigidity. Despite that, it was a very solid machine that lasted and I prefer this over the latest AEG's with sealed tubs.

Zanussi Flexi Dose, purchased in December 2011, sold in Sept 2012 - Lastly, the most awful Zanussi I have ever used. It had poor wash results and the spin cycles were just too sensitive and would take forever to spin. Most of the time, it would never spin on full 1600rpm spin. The Jetsystem model purchased in Sept 2012 is 100 times better and smoother.

Detergent drawer in Zanussi Flexi Dose machine. Its very small and only has 2 compartments. Unlike the Jetsystem which is longer.

LG WM1355HW

I don't know when it was made, but I bought it brand new from Sears and just had it installed last Friday, June 20, 2014. It's an LG WM1355HW, 2.7 cubic feet, apartment-sized front load washer. So far I love how quiet it is, and it sings to me when it's done! :)

I wanted a Miele, but it was way more expensive, and the door opened the wrong way for my laundry closet.

It's my first front loader, and I have followed the tips I have found here such as: leaving the door open when not in use, wiping down the rubber gasket and drying out the dispensing drawer after every load, avoiding liquid fabric softener, etc. A lot more high maintenance compared to a top loader, but the clothes seem to come out cleaner.

Allan, that seems a bit excessive. Even on my cold fill only Miele, I don't clean the drawer out after every wash. I usually just remove the whole drawer once a month or so and wash it out in the kitchen sink.

I do wipe the seal down, but again, not after every load. I usually wait until after 3 or 4 loads before doing this.

I've had my machine for 5 years now and there's not a spec of mould or grime anywhere on it.

I've have my Kenmore He4t for about 8 years. All I do is keep the door slightly ajar and the detergent drawer open. Every so often I give the dispenser a rinse with hot water because fabric softener seems to remain even though I have had the dispenser and the mechanism that directs water to each compartment changed twice under warranty. There is no odour or mold. The last time the tech guy was out, he was surprised that there was nothing in the pump clean out when he opened it. I use both liquid and powder detergent, bleach occasionally and fabric softener.

Yeah, it's probably a bit excessive but I'm usually a bit OCD in the first few months of owning something, such a new car or new appliance. I baby it at first but then I get a bit more relaxed (or lazy, lol) as time goes by.

GE

Here is our GE 4.1 cubic foot washer and the matching dryer.  Both have the steam function.  We installed these in January of 2014.  Must say this washes great and the rinsing is  excellent.
