Hey fellas,

As I mentioned on my recent post, I recently picked up a Westinghouse "How Dry I Am" Dryer.  However, Dave and I couldn't find the model tag.  Is this a D5 or D6?  I know based off the automatic ephemera site that both models had the option.  The matching washer would be the L6 correct?  I didn't see an L5 when I went through the archives.  Thanks fellas.

Also, where would the model tag be?

I have an older version of this washer and dryer. If you remove the lower front panel you may find the model tag on the framework behind it. That's where I found the model tags on mine.

Will, I beleive the 'exact' matching Laudnromat would be an LB-6. My Canadian set are CD-6 for the dryer and CLB-6 for the washer (the 'C' was added to indicate that they are Canadian models). Didn't find one at the estate sales in Stanstead this morning, but I'll keep looking!!

Where do I need to lubricate it?  It is belt driven (not friction drive).

Anybody have an extra lint filter for one of these?  I wanted to ask before I went hunting for a pan to try to convert.

Sadly everybody is looking for those boots. When there were rumors of them being rebuilt on here, there were nearly 80 orders (I counted). There have been talks about having them remade or 3D printed for years. The time will come, it just isn't here yet.

Your best bet with a heating element is taking the one out and having it re-coiled. Parts for these babies are long NLA.

I did finally make a matched set... mostly... but it took some time searching. The washer is an LB-6M and the Dryer is a D-6. The main difference is the shape of the glass in the door. The washer is pointed, where the dryer is round. Best I can figure the washer is a 54 model and the dryer is a 53. The dryer works and the washer does not (waiting on the boot before I do a full restoration). Best of luck with your hunt. They are out there, just keep searching, they will turn up eventually.

Just remember you aren't the only one looking. Mark and a few other members are searching as well.

You'll have to make your own thread and show pictures of your collection. I'd love to see them.

Westinghouse slant fronts

I have the model L110 washer and dryer. They have square glass showing on the outside but when you open the door the glass is round.
