Nothing Beats The Burpilator

I would get an Almond mid 1980's Montgomery Wards or Norge 20lb capacity washer with the 3/4 hp motor. The Wards/Norges were always my favorite.

Also, I do like the Kenmore in Harvest Gold with the Pentavane agitator.

1958 Frigidaire or 1968/1969 Frigidaire.

I think my choice would have to be a Frigidaire Unimatic - with the three ring agitator? I don't know. And colour? I think I'd take Turquoise, that is a nice and friendly colour. Certainly better than Pink (for the outrageous and flamboyant folks), Coppertone (if existent back then) or that green colour

ONE BRAND!

NORGE! Any year, but my favorite would be any of the mid to late 60s.

If I had to buy ONE Vintage Washer, I mean JUST ONE???? It would be a mid 1960's Kenmore Model 60/600.

It would be a 2-Speed/3-Cycle Machine with 3 Water Levels, 3 Temperature Dial, Speckled Tub, Black Bakelite Agitator, Chrome Waterfall Lint Filter, and Off Balance Switch with Buzzer.

THAT

Or a 1960's Frigidaire Roller-Matic with Rapidry.

So many to choose from, I guess I'd like a solid tub Filter Flo, right around 1960, all the bells and whistles possible, and suds-saving, too! Color doesn't much matter, but GE had some nice ones, maybe yellow or turquise?

So!!!! Many!!!!!!!

I actually have the one as my Daily machine.1955 Kenmore Frog-eye,Cycla-Fabric washer, with the High Speed dryer. Id like another WO-65 Frigidaire,a 1950s Easy automatic top loader.I would like a 50s Pink stove,GE or that 1948 GE Stratoliner.

My imaginary dream washer would be a late 1960's Lady K with Super RotoSwirl agitator, and a manual lint filter. Any color will do but avocado is first choice.

Great first choice pierreandreply4. That would be my choice as well, except I'm not picky about the color. The first washer I remember we had was a 70's Canadian Kenmore that looked exactly like the one in the linked thread below, with the only difference being ours had a second rinse option, five water temp selections, and the timer programs, although in the same order, were not at the same position that this one is... our Normal started at 1 o'clock, and Prewash was at 10 o'clock. I remember that the Normal final spin would stop exactly at 3 o'clock if the second rinse wasn't turned on. The timer knob also didn't have the white trim that this one does... it was all "chrome". I also remember it being very quiet... there was no "woo woo" sound; the only thing you heard was the 60Hz of the motor running.

Of course I'd take any BD Kenmore, but the quieter the "woo woo", the better.

A harvest gold 1-18 TOL Frigidaire 1976-1979, and matching wide-mouth dryer.

Oh, if I have to do TOL, then I have even more choices, which then, the pickings tend to be a LITTLE tougher because there are so many choices.

If I were to go with a TOL Vintage Washer, then my choice would be:

(01). 1966-67 Lady Kenmore with a Gold Roto-Flex Agitator in Avacodo.

OR

(02). 1978 Lady Kenmore -- First Generation Electronic Washer with White Dual-Action Agitator.

1960-1961 TOL GE Filter-Flo or a 1966 GE Versatronic or a 1973 GE Dispensall
1959 Philco Automagic
1958 Norge Dispensomat
1960-1961 TOL Frigidaire
1961 Hotpoint Custom Crest Touch Command
Any 1970's era Maytag "Push button" washer/dryer.
1974 Westinghouse "Lock n' Spin" Top loader or 1961 Westinghouse "Program Computer"

1958-1962 is probably my favorite era in Washing machines.. I'd be happy to find any machine from that era. I don't think I'd be picky about colour at all. Although, I'm particularly fond of Robins Egg Blue.

A 1980's GE Filter-flo with mini-basket.
The ramp agitator, almond or green.
Maybe with the dispense-all lid. Those were the days.

While I'm dreamning, can I request a GSD1200 PotScrubber Dishwasher as well. (sorry to hijack)

Other choices:
Early Norge "Burpilator" with the large thick bladed black agitator and metal lint pan.Guess the washer case would be white-the color I grew up with.
GE Filter Flow with the copper color lint pan.
and of course a WP-any color older model-like 50-60's with a surgilator agitator. After that-ran out of room.Last choice-smaller--WP wringer that was stand mounted or set on a counter-portable with the small agitator.Don't know the model-have seen them here.

My dream set hands down would have to be a 1968 Avocado Whirlpool Mark XII Model LTA 9925 w/ Suds-Miser, and matching electric dryer, all with the faux woodgrain front panels.

We didn't get many autos with agitators in UK so we are not so spoiled for choice but I would go for a Hotpoint 1504.
