I'm torn between a Hot Point and a Cold Spot.  They look pristine.  I've never seen a bottom freezer Coldspot from that period.  It might be an easy fix.  The relay on my mom's slightly newer Sears SxS developed issues in later years but the compressor was fine.

Hi Ralph LOL! I always thought that was interesting change of words between the two. Dose anyone on here know the story behind these two names? I mean how did they come about?

At least Sears kept their moniker limited to the appropriate appliance for all those decades until they standardized everything and changed it to Kenmore.  Hotpoint, OTOH, wouldn't be the first thing to come to mind if I were in a focus group charged with creating a catchy brand name for a line of refrigerators.

Both names date back to the 1930's or earlier, I think.

Totally unthinkable, but a "what if?":

I can imagine the irony if Sears had never thought of the Kenmore name, yet branded everything Coldspot, then, in reflection to the idea that GE's Hotpoint name sold fairly well for their refrigerators, and at least moderately for their freezers...

Coldspot!

My parents had friends who had the same exact fridge, it was wonderful! That dishwasher would clean well...but will sound about like a chainsaw running!! the stove is a rare bird, if im not mistaken that is a Hallmark , Custom Crafted by Hotpoint of course!!
