At least in the USA were made by another appliance maker with Hoover's brand slapped on the front. Somewhere in the archives of the group the name of the actual manufacturer is given.
As with everything else Hoover's service manual does tell about parts and repair but makes no mention of the units being outsourced. Hoover wanted "in" on the fully automtatic full-sized laundry market but probably had neither the funding or wanted to invest the R&D on development. Though widely popular for those in small spaces and or tight on funds, Hoover TT's had begun to fade as "compact" top loading and or portable washing machines became widely available. |
