Not succeeding in getting the motor/pump & mounting plate gasket into place. What's the trick?
Tried putting the gasket around the motor assy and pushing it in all at once, but no go.
So placed the gasket in the well first & tried angling the motor assy down & in; also no good.
Is this a brute force job or what?
Can't get leverage... heater element in the way of my fingers also. Tried using screwdrivers to get under the gasket flange, like installing a bicycle tire (with the pump being the rim).
Can't rock the motor assy much because the hose on the left is a tight squeeze and the clamp for the hose on the right wants to chip the enamel.
Using water as a lube, but don't see how soap would allow me to stretch things more, which seems to be what needs to happen.
Reinstalling Pump and Motor Assembly in a KD18-23 DW
The rubber gasket needs to be on the pump mounting plate and I lubricate both the porcelain well and the outside of the rubber gasket with a mixture of liquid hand dish washing detergent and water, and then just push it down into place.
