Matchbox Paul, Chester Mike, Newwave1,

Know you've got or had Hoover Logics/EcoLogics like my Logic Premier...

I need some help from you, I currently have the machine, fully working, I alo have an EcoLogic drum, with the turquoise paddles.

If I can, I'd prefer to just swap the paddles over, otherwise, I'll exchange the inner drums.

Can any of you give your insights/opinions, on if I can get away with swapping the paddles, how easy it is to remove the paddles, & how to remove them, if it's possible. If it's not, maybe you could enlighten me on how to remove the drum, so I can exchange the original Logic one it sports at the moment, for the turquoise paddle EcoLogic drum, & how many, & which components need removing/disconnecting, to exchange the drums.

Optima, any help from you'd be great too!

Any help appreciated.

Pics of the machine, the current drum it has & the replacement, are below for you.

Thanks.

CJ

The EcoLogic drum, to replace the current drum, if the paddles can't be swapped over.

Are the original Logics like this?

The Paddle

The turquoise paddle from the EcoLogic drums.
If I can get away with it, I'll just exchange the paddles from the Logic Premier to the EcoLogic drum, & the turquoise paddles to the Logic Premier.

I know Optima's Logic 1200, has an EcoLogic drum already fitted.

Are the paddle fixings on the Logic type drums like on the pic of the EcoLogic drums, or different?

just a thought

CJ before you go swapping drums.

I think but cant be sure, that the white logic paddles fix in the same way as the green ecologic ones, ie remove the two screws and the slide the paddle forward to release it, and if so it would seem likely they would therefore be interchangable.

So ok getting the green paddles off the ecologic drum, it's just a matter of getting the screws out of the white paddles, could it be possible to see if they line up with the sump hose conection under the drum, so put the machine on one side, remove the sump hose and see if the screw are accesable, if so its a bit of a keyhole surgery job a screwdriver with some electrical tape round it to hold the screw onto the screwdriver, not to loose them into the drum, they are stainless steel screws and therefore not magnetic.

This method has worked for me with a hoover nextras paddles, by removing the breather tube at the top of the drum the screws lined up, and ive repaired indesit paddles in a similar way.

Anyway just a tip to try before you consider if its worth opening up the drum, which if all else is leak free and good bearings i wouldn't be in any rush to do.

Mathew

Logic Drum Vs EcoLogic Drum

hooverzanmiele's profile picture
Matt,

my Dad had a look at the Logic Premier, he thinks, that the current paddles, are screwed from the underside of the inner drum, between inner/outer drums, after looking at the setup on the EcoLogic drum y'day, therefore, if we have to take the drum out, just to disconnect the original Logic paddles, while it's out, we might as well just transplant the EcoLogic drum into the machine, instead of just swapping the paddles.

Plus, it looks, like there're more holes in the EcoLogic drum, than in the current, original, Logic drum, to me, anyway, correct me, if I'm wrong, but compare the current drum shot & one of the EcoLogic drum shots, see what you think.
