Hi All,

I'm wondering if any of my european counterparts are able to try and source a bearing and seal kit for my nearly 40 yo Miele W423? Its not leaking yet, but the bearings are starting to get noisey.

I had ordered the Kit from Miele Australia and after a 2 week wait they called to cancel my order as the parts were no longer available from Germany.

I'm hoping that there may be a kit that a repairer has in stock locally.

I'm happy to pay for your time and cover all costs if you can help me out.

Cheers

Nathan

Do you know what the seal looks like? One option would be to strip it and take the old seal to a bearing shop and see if they have the right size. The bearings themselves will almost certainly be off-the-shelf items. If it uses a carbon face seal like the old Hoover Logics etc you might get away with putting the old seal back in.

Hi Phil,

The kit is made up of about 7 pieces
228501 -Sealing ring 1units
34826 -Sliding ring 850W 30-35-22,5 1units
1195750 -Shaft seal 1units
32514 -Spring plate 46,5X30,5X0,45 2units
27187 -Water reflect.disc 1units
11787 -Ball bearings 6306-2Z 30X72X19 1units
25685 -Circlip DIN 472 52X2 1units
13065 -Ball bearings 6205-2Z 25X52X15 1units

The machine is still ok for now, so I'm reluctant to tear it down until it gets noisier, thus why I'm trying to get the parts so I'm future proofed :)

Cheers

Nathan

I would do it sooner rather than later as, if the bearings break up they will damage other parts of the machine. The 2 ball bearings will be available from any bearing shop so I would get them first then strip it and check if the rest can be re-used.
