Hi Guys,
Following the moving of several machines a couple of weekends ago, I dropped one off at my mum's house to work on. The relay / capacitor went on my Supermatic 1400 (blue control panel) - a few years ago i was lucky enough to pick up a Twin-six, the cheaper version of the Supermatic, well it was in such a poor state i decided to trash it and salvage as much as I could off it. Last night I set to, to replace the wiring loom (very basic) however I am nearly complete, but am unsure where the black and red wires go that come off the spinner motor ? Does any one have any info or wiring diagram ? Ta muchly Keith |

Hey Darren,
That would really help...i know where the yellow wire goes to, the capacitor, but slightly miffed on the red & black. They may go to the relay. The motor on these is a pig to get to..my mum busted mine when her Hoover 1300 logic went bang and needed to wash through some bits, well the spinner just started making a humming noise :( Mine is an unusual machine as it is after the black "swirly" supermatic logo, but before the 1420. Hotpoint logo is block lettering, and the background is blue :) Thanks for your help Keith :) |

Hey Darren,
Thanks for sending over that wiring diagram for the 1400, I can sort of work it out. Do you have a 1400 ? I know it would be massive request, but if you do get 5 minutes, can you have a look at the machine and just confirm where the black & red wires go to from the spinner ? I just want to make sure and not blow the capacitor :) Lots, Lots of thanks Keith |

Dear Keith got into the garage. Plugged the 1400 in and thank goodness it still works. !!!! The black wire goes to the switch and the red to the relay, yellow to the capacitor. I had real problems with the relay when i restored the machine. as the machine was working fine then started to humm after a period. I eventually took the relay to bits and a piece had broken of the switching part. Ages later and a few choice words with the soldering iron it went back together.
Love the machine but very scary to use as the steam form the hot wash water billow out of the spinner between the perspex lid and the wash deck. I think it's because it's direct drive and hits top speed almost strait away. Really hope you get your machine going and get chance to post some pictures. Good luck Darren |
