First of all......WELCOME!
Second, congrats on a nice new machine......you'll love it and have it for years...
water level you have set it to is perfect......just the right amount.... now for the lid switch....no panel removal needed......behind the machine, just above the drain hose port....this pic will show you with a simple clothes pin, will allow it to operate with the lid open.....remove it, and your back to normal...nothing damaged.....do I have you lost?
