Yesterday, the mom and the red headed kid were loading the dishwasher and it had a roto rack. I have not paid much attention to the gas builtins in the kitchen, but figured they were of the Roperish lineage so the dishwasher was some brand made by D&M to go with the other avocado stuff.

I came across a Gaffers & Sattler roto-rack in a friend of my mom's kitchen in the mid to late 1960s. Only other roto-rack I've ever seen outside of Kenmore.

Danny Bonaduce= Danny Partridge

I visited California in the 1980's.  I had never heard of Gaffer & Sattler,  everyone seemed to have at least one G&S product in their kitchen. Marketing thru contractors?  One of them was that oddball/very clever dishwasher that intalled directly under the sink with 1/2 a top rack. The cutout allowed for the pipes under the sink.  The link is Wiki  re: Mr. Bonaduce. alr

I think that G&S might have paid GE for that DW. They were the only ones to make that particular design as far as I know.

Gaffer & Sattler was a big name in Louisiana during the 70's - 90's for heating and cooling. I think they were Carrier built units. I think Carrier dropped the name and re-named them "Payne".
Many of these older units are still heating and cooling.
I always liked the name.
I never ran into the name for home appliances.

Whenever CU tested dishwashers, the G&S was always noted, along with other D&M-made machines, for showing rusting in the sump area during the course of the testing.

Did anyone else notice.....

That the appliances changed colors 3 times during the series run. In the pilot episode they were coppertone, after the pilot they were avocado green. In the last year of the series they were white an in addition to that the cooktop was in a cabinet that divided the kitchen from the dining area. The other night I was watching "I Dream of Jeannie" and noticed the kitchen appliances there. I vaguely remember in earlier seasons the appliances were turquiose and I assume the appliances were Frigidare since GM provided the cars (Pontiacs). The episode I watched the other night was from the early 70's. The appliances were avocado, I noticed off to the side was the stove which had an upper oven although it looked like one of those "Chateau" ovens, not a Flair. I assumed they were Frigidaire since GM was still providing the cars, however I could see plain as day that the washer and dryer were Maytags.

The I Dream of Jeannie Pontiac:

If you'll look at scenes where Jeannie is "magically" driving the Pontiac convertible while not at the wheel, you'll see there's a tissue box on the dash.

It housed a periscope, which a stunt driver crouched on the floor used to drive the car with special controls. TV Guide ran a little story on this back in the day.

@cuffs054

You are correct, "Derwood" drove Chevy's, I was talking about I Dream of Jeannie where they old drove some type of Pontiac with exception of the Colonel who drove a Cadillac convertible.

IIRC:

The I Dream of Jeannie Pontiac I remember best was Major Nelson's (Larry Hagman) 1965 GTO convertible. It was dark blue.

I always thought Derwood drove Chevys

99 per cent of the time he did. But when Bewitched went to Salem for a witches convention they used Pontiacs.
