Horrible unit, in dire need of some TLC, but what is more important about this auction is the seller. They seem to be some sort of appliance salvage outfit in Maryland. From the auction picture they *May* have some interesting things.

What youseeisnotalwayswhatyouget

This machine may have the G.E. name on it but the tub and agitator screams White-Westinghouse. Be wary of it as it was built under WCI. and still has plastic gears in the transmission unless someone knows better of course. The angel winged agitator and plastic tub are a dead give away.

I had this washer and dryer in an apt in IL and it actually did a good job. It did hold quite a bit which was surprising. The transmission on the washer is all metal gears. The agitator reminded me of a Speed Queen's and it washed like one as well. The indexing basket could be held stationary while the washer agitated...done it a few times but after awhile it struggles to get moving ..the basket that is. I thought that the turnover was excellent.
the dryer did a good job as well and it did well on the automatic cycle. The thing that surprised me is that the dryer is fast for a little GE and that it does match the washer load for load.

GE did source some of those from WCI,I'm also thinking that's one of them. Not real sure, though.
