I've never seen Bendix on a modern machine? What era is this electric dryer?

and washer, GE

it's paired with a GE Filter-Flo for sale, I have contacted the seller, we'll see. The GE FF looks low-end, not much of a console.

WOW, that is highly unusual. Clearly it's a Westinghouse made dryer, but branded Bendix! Very unusual for this era.

Could Be....

....A promotional-price dryer made for some chain store or other.

I remember in the late '80s, KMarts were suddenly flooded with cheap overseas-made TVs branded Philco - a trademark I hadn't seen in years. I only ever saw them at KMart.

They also had DuMont-branded VCR's. $79.95 a pop.

We saw Bendix-branded Westinghouse machines here in the 80s. I think I remember that it had something to do with the overseas connections of WCI enabling them to use the Bendix name. Don't you love all of the woodgrain? John used to refer to stoves with lots of woodgrain as wood stoves.

One thing about WCI, they never lost an opportunity to pimp a once-hallowed name in appliances . . .

1980s Bendix Dryer

WOW I never saw the dryer, but as Tom mentioned we saw several of the matching FL, three belt WH washers with the Bendix name on them, I even put one in the rental house Jeff and I owned on Old Baltimore Pike. These were just rebadged W Westinghouse machines, but it was neat seeing the Bendix Economat name on a washer in the 1980s.

Re "NEW" Bendix

My Mothers first cousin got a new avocado set like this in the late 70s or early 80s, they ran about 25 years!
