My Friend has a miele G 368i plus dishwasher that is giving her some grief. She emailed me to ask what could be done! This i what she said: The machine will fills with water then drains, meaning the cycle starts then stops then the fault inlet/drain light comes on.

she really doesnt want to buy a new machine so any help would be great!

thanks

Hi. Many things can be responsible for the problem your friend is experiencing but i think the most common is a leakage that fills with water the bottom tray switching consequently on the aquastop sensor. You could empty the tub and then tilt the machine to see il water comes out from the bottom. If water comes out the you have to place the machine on the rear side ( be careful not to bend the pipes) and then remove the base. Then you can search for a leakage.

Agree with above especially since the inlet/drain fault indicator is active.

I think Miele DW and washers are programmed so that if ANY type of error occurs it will cancel the cycle and pump the water out of the machine. With this programming it could be something else besides the inlet/drain fault. Also it could be possible that the inlet water screen is clogged and the DW is not getting enough water in the time it has alloted. Even though Miele has a water meter that measures the amount of water coming in, It still expects X amount of water in X amount of Time. I think the allotted time is programmable.
