Remembering that one thread here about Russian washing machines, I would like to tell all of you that there are REALLY nice machines coming from there nowadays:

For my brother I found that (never heard-of) front loader "Exquisit WA 6010" (which is sold here in Germany by GGV Exquisit GmbH in Kaarst, a purely importing company for several white goods). It is also known as "Continent" brand (by the same GGV company) and as "MPM" by www.mpm.pl... in Poland). But basically it is being made by Atlant Inc. in Minsk, White Russia.

It was free for pick-up only as "it would not drain properly", so I just got there and shoved it into my car. It showed no signs of wear or dirt at all, just the inner part of the drain pump stopper was missing: Clearly enough, this would make the pump impeller a perfect blender to froth up the suds instead of pumping them away and out: The shroud was missing atop the impeller (no suction). The former owner must have lost it, so I just got a new one.

After having run 8+ loads through this machine on the most different cycle options I must say: WOW, this is impressive! While it is being marketed here among the Indesit/Fagor/Whirlpool Europe BOL and discount brands (and actually using a number of their generic components) yet it stands out from them by far: A sturdy construcion, a vast number of options, an intelligent sensor system altering the cycles as you go (according to the load) and a fantastic load balancing. It even features a sneakers cycle with 1000 rpm. and after having washed my thick sleeping bag in it, I am positive that it could handle those, too.

I have seen it redistributing loads again and again until they were perfect for an almost vibration free high speed spin, I have seen it add water when oversudsing in order to dilute the rinse load and even adding or subtracting minutes from the (estimated) cycle time could be seen here, according to the wash load.

To put it short: Some BOL machines slam shut and say "clack" or "click" or "peng", but the Atlant machine says CLUNK like a car door of some substantial brand.
We own the "Maxi Function" model CMA 60C102 aka Continent WA 1006 aka Exquisit WA 6010.
It is marketed here between 229,- and 289,- € (a shame if compared to what it gives you).

I do envy my brother already now and I am thinking of getting my own.

owao

Hay this is great news.

am very pleased to hear news like this.

lets hope we will get rid off that junk coming from the far east.

i read in the manufacturer website that they are under license from BSH.

well done Russia!

thats how BEKO arcelik started under license from BSH and their early models were identical to those old good siemens machines of the 80s.

Today they are much better that many asian manufacturers and developed their own technology.

Poor they don't sell such condensor or heatpump dryers :( But I aslo heared some of the German discount machienes being good performers as well. Buying them online and get a extended warranty would be a really good deal so....

Or should I say "domo arigato"? ;-)

It's amazing that you found a demo video of how to fold shirts like that. Since I'm washing my work clothes as I write this, I'll try it out straight away.

The Atlant machine looks neat!

Especially the control panel. But I have to admit that I doubt the quality of the Exquisit brand. My grand-aunt owns a dishwasher by them which was bought in a DIY store and i think it is a piece of junk.

I agree

hi Christian, hey all,

right. I totally agree.
Exquisit does not carry a "reliability plus" award here.
Even their service dept. is out of question what comes to what you can read in some consumer reviews.

It is a well-known fact that GGV Exquisit import stuff from whereever they can get it just to push these pallets of white goods into the discount markets. So it is not only Atlant in Minsk, Belarus that they get their machines from, it may well be other firms as well (which I do not know) -> I have only been researching the Atlant machines, as these are the ones that our machine is made by.

Google translations have shown me the original texts/sheets and diagrams and have given me a vague idea of what that could be in German (and have lead me to laughing off my butt what comes to false translations: "Please do not open the car door before ending your life, thus a flood might come in handy when flooding your off-hands flood. Please read and do- do not care to. Avoid electrical shock by touching the hot wire. Neutral wires will not work"). :-))

At least this I know for sure:
The Atlant machines keep their promise. They are produced in Minsk. They DO look similar to Indesit or Whirlpool, yet they are not the same. (of course, the components may be the same, Plaset Italy pumps, Haier motors or other brands - as can be seen from the service manual that I have downloaded meanwhile) - but the casing needs no extra frame to hold the inner components (as is the case with other brands: It is just the metal body that stands there, no extra steel frame. The concrete counterweights all carry the MKAY marks (which translates MKAU in Western spelling) and that means: Produced in Minsk by Atlant.

The service dept. of GGV Exquisit in Kaarst (the importing company) whicht is called EGS: www.egs-gmbh.de... is NOT as bad as their reputation, after a quick phone call they sent me some small spare parts for free ("Kulanz") because calculating P&P for some minor parts would have been too much of a hassle (and the parts were here just some days later. Hats off! Kudos!)

For all those "high water level" affictionadoes out there: This machine DOES feature a regular/synthetics cycle on high water level, calles "blended loads" (cottons/synthetics mixed). It is the same as the regular cycle, but it fills up to half of the drum diameter, really plunging and drowning all items). Only the wash action is somewhat reduced (more like permanent press/ synthetics).
So if you want high water levels and full action, you simply choose "blended loads" (to fill it up high), then cancel ("zero/off") and than redial towards "cottons" (having strongest action). (The machine keeps the water of a previous cycle, it will not drain when starting a new cycle).

Just a great machine, love it. I WILL get my own to play with.

and unfortunately

...Atlant does not manufacture dryers (yet) at all, nor do they make dishwashers. They only make fridges and water kettles.

So SOME washers of GGV Exquisit may well be made by Atlant. Other washers and ALL dryers and dishwashers must be made by someone else.

Good that I have learned how to distinct one from the other by now. It will only be Atlant for me for contemporary washers, no matter whether I get them from, Exquisit or any other dealer.

Yeehaa! Got my own!

As I was a bit envious about my brother having his "ATLANT" machine I kept searching the ads and auctions for one of my own.
Got one! ;-))

Same series, but with 1400 rpm and an Aquastop secure inlet hose.
Mine is positioned in the kitchen, wooden floor and all that. NO vibration up the walls and up into the house (unless you wash a single bathing gown of terry towel).

Just a very discerning "will it spin?" period and in case of a positive result a smooth ramp up and a high-pitched hum for one or two minutes. If not: The machine will keep redistributing up to 10 times before giving a negative beep and "off".
The minutes are stopped while redistributing, but once the spin has started successfully, the timer display keeps counting backwards as expected and when entering the next cycle sequence the machine subtracts all minutes that were lost. Overall it is very accurate.

I especially love the "stains" cycle for items you cannot boil or hot-wash: Medium drum action combined with a timed chlorine bleach flush-in and an extra rinse and extra oversuds sensing.

I think I must make some vids.
Even when you buy it new (239,- € at Redcoon's) it is a real bargain and a far cry from all other low-budget brands.

Sorry, but there is only one modell like this on redcoon that only has 1000rpm. Can you show me the link, please? :D

Post# 706712 , Reply# 16   10/2/2013 at 06:05 (3,831 days old) by whirlpolf ()

Not quite, there are 1200 rpm models as well. Ok, the 1400 is no longer on the market, I got a used one.

Compare the Exquisit models here in Germany:
www.redcoon.de/search/QUESTIONMAR...

The trick is: GGV changed the names, even "Exquisit" was "Continent" for some months.
Today: WA (or WM) 6012 = 6 kg, 1200 rpm (no matter what model series 02 or 04)
Before: WA 1206 = 1200 rpm, 6 kg (all of the same series Atlant 02 = Maxifunktion)

Series 02 display:

Series 04 display:

See the different series at Atlant:
www.atlant.by/index.phpQUESTIONMA...
http://youtube.com/user/atlantbt

CMA 70C106 (as an example)
CMA = automatic washer
70, 60, 45, 50 =7, 6, 4.5 or 5 kg
C= normal depth 50 cm, Y = smaller depth 40 cm, M = extra small depth 33 cm
8, 10, 12 = 800, 1000, 1200 rpm
6 = series 06 Logic Navigation
2 = series 02 Maxi Funktion

Hope this helps.

Atlanta - this is not Russia!

I want to say that washing machines Atlas, produced in Minsk, in Belarus. A Belarus - a former Soviet Republic (BSSR) but at the moment it is not Russia.
In Russia produce washing machines factory Vesta, where previously produced washing machines Vyatka-automatic, but here they are simply collected, producing washing machine Candy.

Atlant - Elin

In Serbia those belarus machines are sold under Elin brand, and are selling surprisingly well, mostly because of very low price

My Candy comes from Vesta, Russia! What I love is the fact each machine form that factory has handwritten number in the manual as well as a stamp with date of production and certificate of quality (I think) :)
And everything's written in Cyrillic too ^^

I tried both links and it was all written in Sputnik so I gave up.

Still the pics looked quite nice.

Russia industry.

P.S!! Speaking of modern russian washing machines, you can see washers
"Oka" brand.
okatorg.ru/sm/index.php...

Atlant good company.
Belarusians are great! I have a refrigerator of this brand which we
bought many years ago. It works well so far! But ATLANT not russian brand.

Washing machine in the USSR, was produced in large quantities.
But generally it was a washing machines "pulsator type", with fast underwater impeller.
Gradually improving production of washing machines.
However, all produced in Russia pulsator washers remained fairly "primitive".
Automatic washing machines were "strong deficit".
For example washing machine "Vyatka".
It can be purchased only in Moscow in Soviet time.

Today "Vyatka" washing machine is no longer produced.
Of course modern "Vyatka" good and beautiful, but it only remains of luxury.
Russia usually produces outdated or primitive appliances.
--"Generally Russia backward country in terms of technology!"--
In principle Russia could be a developed country!
But Russia has two misfortunes it's a "corrupt officials" and "lazy"!
USSR also had this two misfortunes.
There are people in Russia who are developing new things with beautiful modern design and new technologies, but these two problems do not allow them to develop.
Therefore, many engineers and scientists tend to go to work in the U.S. or
in Europe.

Post# 735815 , Reply# 21   2/17/2014 at 10:37 (3,692 days old) by mechanic2laundr ()

I beg to differ with you, Daniel. In Russia, makes a wide variety of washing machines. Now also produce washing machines economy class. Automatic washing machine compete with imports hard on this it will fail. And corruption and laziness - it obsolete steriotipy, to washing machines which are irrelevant. You only know about Russia is that your parents lived in the Soviet Union, and that you have a relative in St. Petersburg, that's all. The Western press is interested in changing some facts about Russia, but this is politics. And this forum does not expect political discussions and insults. By this, I think you can stop this conversation. I apologize to those who had witnessed this conversation.

Post# 740071 , Reply# 22   3/7/2014 at 12:49 (3,674 days old) by Whirlpolf ()
No Ivan, sorry

First of all, my apologies to have called "White Russian washers" (such as the Atlant brand from Minsk, Belarus) a "Russian brand".
It is my fault, the wording White Russian and Russian sound very much alike in German and in English. Moreover, the older USSR empire had them combined under one roof.

But coming to what is happening today (look at Ukraine and Krim) I am more than aware that there can be major disagreements of what is Russian and what is not. My fault just by the language, I am really sorry.

But yet I think, this forum here needs WAAAAYYYYYY more input from other sources than the purely Anglo-Saxon ones: Its input is highly American or UK-based, sometimes even Australian, ok.

But so many other countries are out of question here or at least underrepresented:

Many Euro countries, how about India and Africa, and how about all Far East Countries (the majority of washers worldwide seems to be built in China or Japan anyway, at least I feel like this).
Just compare:
What about our user Koalas from France (on youtube) and his site (www.lamachinealaver.com...)? He has hardly posted anything here and for a good reason: It is officially "international" here but as a matter of fact, it is mainly US-based.

Compare to Edgar from Finland on vacuumland.org, same effect: Hardly posting, only when specifically asked for. (And his knowledge about the Lux/Electrolux/Volta/Trident group of products is HUGE!)

So please: Please keep posting, we all here need international input and exchange.
I love insights from other countries and other ways of seeing things.
We all could do well wanting that.

Besides: There were so many people loving the Russian Sputnik vacuum on vacuumland, so keep posting here as well for your washers! "I WANT INPUT, MORE INPUT" (this way quoting robot no. 5 from the 80s movie)
