Hi

We had some power problems recently where the main power kept going on and off.

Right after this our Miele w1986 washer wouldn't start a cycle. I believe we tried holding down the Start button and then the door became locked with door lock light red and anti-crease/end light flashing.

We had to open the service panel underneath and pull the manual door open tab to get the load out.

We tried to turn the power off the machine for a few hours to try and reset it. Now when trying to start the washer the display reads 69h where it usually says 40m or whatever a normal cycle length would be.

Has anyone seen this 69h display or knows what it means? Does it seem like something is actually broken in the machine or is it just stuck in some kind of program loop?

Any advice on how to get this machine working again would be really appreciated

You said that your machine won't start but then said you had to manually open it to get the load out. Do you mean the machine was stopped by a power failure when it was in the middle of a cycle?

After a cycle starts the machine allows about 6 minutes for you to select another program after that if you move the program selector button anti/crease end will flash telling you to return that selector to the program you originally selected. You can end a program by moving the selector knob to drain spin and then END.

I have accidently hit the power off button while the machine was in a middle of a cycle. when I powered it on it picked right up where it left off as long as the program selector is at the same program, so it remembers where is thru power offs. I would have thought unplugging the machine would have cleared this...but maybe not.

If you hold down the start button while the machine is in the middle of a program it will lock the program in and nothing can be changed and the door will not be able to be opened until the program has completed. This is called the electronic program lock.

Try closing the door, setting the program selector to the program that was running at first and then hold the start button in until the door unlocks. Or set the program selector to the program that was running and press start....perhaps it will pick up where it left off or select drain/spin and turn it on

I don't think anything is mechanically wrong and normally I would expect that everything would be cleared with an unplug but perhaps it is confused because you held down the start button to lock the program and then stopped the machine and manually opened the door and now............?

So?

So did this work or are you still having issues?
