so its been a while since ive updated on here, first of all our Hotpoint WML540G bit the dust in December (Motor Failure) and was replaced by a Hotpoint WMFG8537 which was working fine...

...until April when it started making a squeaking noise that was very annoying, turns out the shocks were worn out and had to be replaced, was told it should be fine after they fixed it...

...it wasn't, about two weeks later the squeak came back but not as loud, i did nothing about it until two weeks ago i noticed it getting worse and the motor started sounding unusually loud plus there was a slight clicking sound once the machine reached 1500rpm, so called them out again last week...

...so turns out my 8 month old washing machine which i paid 400 Euro for needs the following work done:

New Drum
New Motor
New Springs
New Shocks

it has to have all this work done and it hasn't even reached a year old yet, called the retailer i purchased it from and was told all we can do is have it repaired, if it happens again we'll replace it, so i made it extremely clear to them if it happens to break again while still in its guarantee ill be demanding a replacement machine and not the same one a better one.

Gosh, you're having quite a hard luck with your machine!
Lemons happen but this is silly heheehehh, the only thing left original in your machine is the cabinet! :O
You're right, it it gives you anymore troubles it's a good idea to have it replaced!

Even if it leaves me wondering! The new series is supposed to be much improved over the previous generation!

Bad luck I think...

Most who know me, know I'm an advocate of this range of machines. I've had various indesit company machines over the years and the current range are a leap in the right direction. I had an ultima WMUD962p from new which was on constantly until I sold it to get my current WDPG8640X washer/dryer which has also had a battering both on washing and drying without an issue.

I think you got a Wednesday or a Friday machine unfortunately.

a leap in the right direction

Exactly what I think, that's why I was left mesmerized by such a bad record!
Anyway if Luke found himself so bad with the machine it's his right to change brand.

I defiantly got the last machine out of the factory on a Friday night for sure,

but im also a huge fan of these machines, so much so ive gotten family members to choose them over any other machine which are all working perfectly,

ive always been a Hotpoint fan and a huge supporter of the brand especially now they have such close ties with Ariston (or Became the new Ariston) and should the machine break again id be replacing it with none other than the Aqualtis,

i would never switch from a brand i love just because of one (very) bad Machine.

i will post pictures of the tear down of the machine when they come to fix it on Thursday we'll all get to see what their really made of ;)

This is the machine i really wanted but couldn't afford at the time and its what i'll be getting should the Futura act up again, knowing my luck it'l wait until 1 day after the guarantee expires to break again.

Glad it hasn't put you off. I wanted the aqualtis too but it was abit too expensive for me at the time.

I would agree, possibly a lemon machine -BUT what a great service, no half measures all the main components replaced under guarantee, not often you get great service like that .... let us know how you get on with it!!

I just got a HE7L492 - from the new range - just the old square door styling.
I must say its amazing, very quiet, does a really good job, tumbles are so good and wash times are OK.
I hope mine lasts longer than 8 months, but If it hasn't lasted too long already, why choose the same brand again? I would choose another brand?

@newwave1, must take some pics of mine too - it also rinses as high as that!!

I do have to say their customer service is brilliant, very friendly and understanding on the phone.

the guy that came out last week to asses the machine told me the main failure on this new range believe it or not is the Bearings, he said our case is the first one he's seen with so many things gone wrong.

Anyways they'll be here in afternoon tomorrow with the parts needed i'l try and take some pics while they're tearing it apart and putting it back together.
