Had an item delivered via Beltmann shipping yesterday (no, am not going to say what it was just yet), and despite requesting blanket wrapping and padding,it came simply wrapped in plastic shrink wrap. No padding, no blankets, no nothing. This despite the request being clearly spelled out on the contract. Cannot hook the unit up just yet to see if anything internally was damaged, but already put in a call to the Beltmann rep who took the order as there are some cracks here and there. Not sure if these pre-existed but just want to cover my bases. L. |

Now you're teasing us?? What is it? There are cracks in it??? Is this a vintage pink toilet? A couple of times, I've had things delivered from/through Beltmann that were just sitting on a pallet, no strapping, padding or anything and was told that the driver removed the straps and/or blankets before unloading it from the truck. I don't know if this was true but I've never had as much as a scratch on anything - that is to say due to the shipping process anyway. A 30 to 50 year old washer is bound to have a few battle wounds, just like the wrinkles around my eyes! |

*LOL* Contact clearly states "must double blanket wrap machines and shrink wrap over. Do not put tape or stickers directly on machines". Don't know what went wrong, but will see if Beltmann contacts me later today. A Teaser? Sure, why not get in on the action? Everyone else is doing it, aren't they? *LOL* Will be about a week until unit is installed, but will take some snaps before and post to my club album. Again, won't know if anything internally was damaged until after installation, but wanted to put Beltmann on notice right after delivery to preserve any "rights" one may have. Do this all the time with shipping companies such as UPS. You really have only a small window of time after taking delivery to let the shipper know about potential damage. Wait to long and chances of receiving compensation become almost nil. What is it? That is for me to know and you all to guess. One hint, it weighs in at about 300lbs. Launderess |

according to my recent experience it was totally the opposite. Beltman wanted nearly $200 more than Craters & Freighters did. C&F did a superb job of actually screwing down the heavy boxing all around my Fridgette Twin Tub and used solid foam on all sides internally, and shrink wrap. However they did just drop it off as another member stated. This is the second time we have used C&F and as far as packaging goes we LOVE them! Delivery, especially calling ahead, needs improvement tho'... Launderess, can't wait to see the reveal!!!

Gansky1, OF COURSE they will tell you the driver unwrapped it and then took it off the truck. NO evidence, NO proof. One must greet the truck as it arrives. One must take photos if instructions were not followed and paid for. Ok bla bla bla. Launderess -- Might a guess another Hoover twin tub. Good Luck! Steve |

I have always met the truck as it arrived and so far, knock on wood, I've had no troubles with Beltmann. I don't pay much attention to the driver's comments as it's very likely they are only the last carrier to have the item anyway and have no idea what the other links in the chain have been or have done. It's always a good idea to insure whatever you're shipping for the purchase price and the cost of shipping so you're out nothing if the item is destroyed beyond repair. Guessing on the shipment to Laundress, it would have to be a vintage automatic washer or dishwasher since she started the thread in this forum... Perhaps a vintage Maytag washer so you can join in the fan club? |

Thanks Gansky and tothers for the support/suggestions. Item was insured for sale cost and shipping,in fact a tad more so no worries on that score. Beltmann contacted me this afternoon and stated they were mailing out a claim form, but told them won't know what is what unitl after the unit is installed in about a week. As for what "it" is, it's time to play "Charades" Launderess - Holds up 1 finger (which means) |

Sounds like laundress, Second clue please. It is true, Charades doesn't translate to well, but we're getting the drift. What kind of vintage wm is 300 lbs and can be cracked. of course the glass window. You better take the "belt" to Beltman! It's a German Front loader! |

Ooooooh, I hear a DING-DING-DING-DING-DING correct-answer bell in your immediate future, sudsmaster. gansky.....If your pink toilet is a pressure-flush model and you use an HE detergent, I think it would do an outstanding job of cleaning! Retrieving your clothing at the end of the cycle would prove challenging, however. |

It appears that it's a Miele W1070. I tried to get more info on this model from the web, but didn't find out much, other than that it's an older residential model (I think). It may be desirable because of more flexibility in terms of combinng different temps, wash cycles, spin speeds, etc, than more modern computer controlled versions. |

*LOL* Unit is due to be installed tomorrow, and have been that busy have not had a chance to take snaps, much less even bother with the unit sitting as of now in the middle of my front sitting room. Will see what one can do later today or tomorrow after the Miele tech leaves. Weahter reports are calling for snow and one may have to make a dash for the shops after the service tech leaves to stock up. L. |
