Ok, turnaround is fair play. I broke down and got me some genuine Sears Ultra Plus Detergent.
Going to try a load tomorrow. I will post results here.

That's the version I have. I find it's not quite as good at removing tough stains as is powdered Tide With Bleach HE, and probably Wisk Deep Clean Original. But it rinses out really well, even in softened water. I use it for light-to-moderately soiled loads (like bath linens, which love to hang on to suds) with excellent results. And it can be used in standard or HE machines, which comes in handy now that I have one of each.

Good luck with your test load! I'm sure your SQ will do a great job. I was very happy with the results from mine, that's for sure.

The Fuller 86 detergent is supposed to arrive Friday afternoon, so I'm hoping I have it to play with over the weekend.

Sears Detergent

That is the same formula I use, and I love it. We do not have soft water here in Sacramento, and with a little Oxy Clean added, It gets all of our clothes clean as a whistle. Don't forget My partner and I have a 12 year old boy in the house. He definitely pushes the limits of any detergents capabilities. What I found was the perfect paring with it, is using White King water Softner and Detergent Booster. It worked flawlessly with the Sears. I still think, that Sears is one of the best out there.

David

Ruidmentary results

Ok, I could not wait so I scrounged up my PJs, 2 shirts, and an LL Bean cotton blazer along with socks.
I also tossed in a white tshirt used to dust up around the house. I made sure it was as filthy as I could get it.

I selected a med/large load on normal cycle, used full measuring cup of the stuff. Interestingly the instructions state to add detergent after the washer has filled, not add it to bottom.
So I dutifully followed that and when I added it to the tub just before agitation, it turned the water a milkly white color.
Suds were virtually non existent and the wash water remained that same milky white color.
The detergent is unscented and as such when in the machine, the odor, if you will, reminded me of Bold3 my mother used in the 70's. I would not call it offensive but certainly different after using scented liquid detergents for so many years.

The rinse was clean, no stray suds or anything that would have pushed me to use the anti-Algore switch (second rinse).

The clothes came out damp with no scent at all except for my budget Austins $2.64 gallon pink liquid fab softener.

The tshirt came out spotless I must say. As noted, I made sure it was very grungy so I could have some sort of baseline to see how well the ground in dust and dirt was removed.

Admittedly this "test" is very basic. Nowhere near what frigilux did but I can say it did clean. When they come out of the dryer, I will do my nose test to see if the worn clothes odor is removed.

I got this stuff for 7.99 and assuming for sake of discussion I get the 125 loads as stated on box, that works out to 6 cents a load for detergent cost.

To get a decent warm wash, I filled the tub 1/3 on the HOT setting, then switched it to WARM. I did not take water temp but I estimate it around 100 degrees for the wash. Rise was tap cold.

Ben-- Glad you had great results using the Sears detergent. I've never read the directions, and didn't know you weren't supposed to add the detergent before starting the fill. Can't say it has ever been a problem. It had no problems dissolving in the Immersion Care or the SQ when added first, nor has it ever stained my colored dress shirts. Guess I should read directions!

Warmer Warm Water: I do the same thing to get a warmer wash with the SQ---fill about 1/3 with hot water, then switch to warm. Sometimes the 75-80 degree warm water is fine, but it's nice to have 90-100 degree water for certain loads. Consumer Reports now tests detergents in both standard 90-degree warm water as well as 75-degree water, which is what newer machines are "dumbed-down" to.
Wisk Deep Clean is one of the detergents that does well in both temps, as does Tide With Bleach HE.

It will be a while before I am ready

But I plan to use this stuff when I do the bath towels again. Before I used A&H or TIde and man, I got suds city! Perhaps it could be residual detergent from prior loads done when I had the GE. Not sure.

I'll probably film that too for comparison sake.

Unlike your test, none of my clothes are every really super dirty. Mainly order from cig smoke and perspiration so with this non scented powder, what I smell is the actual fabric in a clean state, not covered up with scent.

FWIW I use A&H about 90% of the time, the only variation is which scent do I buy this time :) I get Tide when it goes on sale. With the GE, I never got suds like I do here. Not sure why. I used the same full cap of A&H in both machines.

For the next several loads, I will concentrate on the Sears powder. I like powder detergent. Takes me back to a simpler time in the 70's at Mare's Meadows Laundromat with mom managing 2-3 machines full of our laundry and the big box of Bold3 close at hand!
