Do speed queen washers have imbalance protection in their lid switches?

I decided on ordering new Speed Queen as my daily driver since I am very impressed with performance of them. I just found that out after I picked up an AWN413 that was on heavy discount because of shipping damage (one side is scratched up and the front has a big dent) My plan was to tinker with it just for kicks, but it turned out they are just as good if not even better than what you guys say about them :D :D

Anyway, Im thinking about bypassing the switch with a zip tie in the back. However my concern is if these have imbalance protection I don't want to inadvertently over ride it.

Thanks!

The toploaders do not have any kind of imbalance switch as far as I know...

They used to have this trip mechanism that was rather flimsy years ago...my Amana washer had it, was the same design as today's SQ washers. Alliance got rid of it and now is a simple design. And no out of balance switch, really dont need one since the washer will compensate for the condition.

I think nmassman44 is correct

In looking at the parts guide, I did not see anything about an unbalance switch.

From my own personal use, I have not had any unbalance issues that have caused issues.

You guys are awesome!

Sounds good then. Clothes pins or zip ties shouldn't hurt then.

I will let you all know how things work out! Smile
