Hi, yesterday evening I collected this beast of a dryer....a Philco (Bendix essentially) dryer from the Soft Line series. I got it home, and fired her up....the machine runs smoothly and quietly, takes a while to heat up but when it gets hot, it gets hot! The machine is ventable from the Left hand side and the rear. The machine came with it's stopper for one vent or the other. It also came loaded with the original pipe and manual. The door bowl is angled and needs adjusting, will do that tomorrow.

I'll post some pics and go into further details of the controls on the appropriate pictures.

Enjoy

Chris.

(PS, it is a dryer, not a washer, about 6 people have thought it was a washer on FaceBook when I uploaded a picture yesterday).

I won't post a pic of...

...the fascia where the drawer is, it's just suggested drying times. The option buttons Left to Right are Mains (with a green light), Synthetic (Half heat) heat with a red light, and Fan only (airing).

Timer Dial

The machine has a 120 min timer, the little S shaped 2 arrows on the Right of the dial are basically a Crease Care function like on the old 93 series (Hotpoint). It tumbles cool for a while if the load is untouched for a while to stop creasing and to reduce knots.

Finally

The drum (Or cylinder in the manual). The machine claims to be a 5 KG machine, but looking at the drum, it's smaller that the TL21 and thats a 5. The machine has a reverse action, but the drum turns one way for what seems like an eternity, then the other for a blink of an eye! 3 drum paddles....fair amount of scratches and fluff...but it's a nice machine! Well worth the £40, IMHO.

Thanks, please watch the thread for more pics and will run a test load in it tomorrow.

Take care.

Chris.
