It strikes me as sad that the two companies resonsible for bringing tumble-action washers to the United States, esepcially Westinghouse who, through various corporate permutations, kept the only domestically produced tumbler washer on the market in the United States are not here to see the return of the tumbler washer to a place of prominence in the market place. Yes, AVCO, the owners of Bendix before Philco did skunky things to the industry with patents and probably did more to force top loader automatic washer creation than any other entity, but it does seem a shame that those two names are not on any domestically produced tumbler washers today, 75 years after Bendix introduced the tumbler automatic washer.
