The felt at the back of the drum is coming out-----it's a big circle of felt between the plastic drum and the metal perforated rear bulkhead. Is there a PN#anyone knows, or can closed cell foam be used as a replacement? It's a gas model, the main heat source is far away from this, but it still gets hot for sure. About 1/2 of it came out in 2 loads, makes for weird lint.
Thanks
Mark

as I think it out

I guess the missing felt would allow too much cold air to sneak in, and thus reduce the amount of airflow from the gas heater, making for inefficiency and a slight increase in bad fumes in the basement?

These felt seals were originally glued in. You can probably find some thick felt and cut it to size and glue it in after removing the back of the machine and back piece that the drum rides on. Weatherstrip glue adhesive or contact cement will work to glue the felt around where the drum rides. You will have to work the drum back on to the rollers afterward and screw the back to the machine housing.

I found some pressure adhesive backed felt stripping, 1/2 inch x 58 long, it should do the trick. I'll take pics.
