Looks like someone on THS found one of the few reamaining Miele 1986 washers in WI. If this really is a good machine, I am willing to make a road trip up there to pick it up. Does anyone here have this machine? Do you like it? Is it worth the hassle, or should I just go with a 1213 a little closer to home?

Apparently this machine is more versatile than the W1213, yet it is still the larger 6KG capacity. This may be my chance to FINALLY own a Miele!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Tex

So What's Not To Like?

Slightly larger capacity than the W1918. As an older model, uses a tad more water than today's Miele washers and you have the beauty of far more user control versus the 1200 series washers. All this wrapped into a washer built to last the duration?

Miele guarantees they will stock parts for discontiuned models for 15 years or more (think it may be 20). My "new" Miele was last produced in 1992, and parts are still available.

Early bird gets the worm, if you are too slow someone else may nab this unit as many people are preferring the 1900 series to the newer 1200.

Note, though Miele washers may seem "small" they are VERY heavy. Plan on bringing a good appliance dollie and one or more helpers to shift the unit.

You will like this washer very much. It easily handles loads that would almost overload my Maytag A806. Not being able to set a washer to rinse & spin or just spin like the 1200s is stupid and the only thing stupider is spending that much money for something that greatly restricts how it can be used. The 1986 is a great machine. Hurry and get it. It will even tell you the water temperature you are selecting in degrees!
