I called the seller a minute ago got some chicky on the line who wasn't sure about anything and then hung up on me. Why do some models that I want have to belong to the intellectually challenged? This is a very early iteration of the A806 and I've always wanted one in Cordoba Copper.

ovrphil:

thanks for the heads-up. i love the coppertone/brown color but, it looks like it is the smaller sized washtub, like my A208. and with the 3 buttons for the speed selector, i am guessing it's a single speed washer??

i know somebody will chime in & let us know.

bajaespuma:

don't give up. call back tomorrow, when maybe someone else, who knows more about the washer can give you the information you want & need. and keep us posted & let us know if you decide to go for it.

It's the big tub large capacity washer. All 806 models were. This is a suds saver.

Nope - this is a two-speed machine, and it has the larger tub Maytag used at the time. When Maytag went to the second generation of this machine, they put four water level buttons on it instead of three like this one has, but they did not increase the capacity of the tub. So -

An early machine's buttons say, "Small, Normal and Large."

A second-generation machine's say, "Small, Medium, Normal and Large."

A third-generation machine's say, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large."

Same capacity tub on all three generations. Just four fill levels on late machines instead of three as on earlier machines. Large (or Extra Large on third-generation machines) was a 19-gallon fill, 40 gallons total usage on all three generations. Where you gained a fill level was at the LOW end, where the Small on the later machines was smaller than the Small on the first generation.

Have I confused everyone enough, LOL?

thank you for letting me know that this is a "big tub large capacity" washer with the "suds-saver" option. i really do appreciate you posting & letting me know that. i do love the color but i know bajaespuma tried to contact the seller first. so he has first dibs. and i wish him the best of luck.

thank you again for the information appnut. i am so confused now with all the options & different button set-ups!!! LOL.....

danemodsandy:

thank you for the detailed explanation of the differences of how the extra large tubs were marked. i am so confused now, my head is spinning. i swear i feel like i should bookmark this thread so that i can come back to it and read it when i'm not sure about a maytag washer! LOL.....

thank you again for the super detailed explanation of the extra large tub choices (if that's the right way to say it??).
