Were it not for standing pilots I'd love it for a DD.  Minneapolis CL.

Why on earth??

Would you NOT want pilots, I love them ,I hate that old click click stuff and that glowbar oven ignition!A pilot lite oven is the perfect temp to raise bread.

I love those flight-type burner controls. The deepwell has a pilot that you have to light each time you use it because after you get everything browned or up to a boil, the big burner is turned off and the pilot is what simmers everything, even though it is off to one side and not centered under the pan. One thing about a gas deepwell cooker is that you have to remove the pan before you light the burner otherwise you could have one of those "delayed ignition" incidents that could either blow open the left door on the front of the stove, possibly bending it back on the hinges, or send the pan into the ceiling, possibly damaging part of the range backsplash, to say nothing of the damage the ball of flame could do to the kitchen decor or the would-be cook. You'd play hell trying to replace that light shade. That would be a fun experiment to do in a driveway.
