That's a self-cleaning 40" GE. You'd think they'd run a self-clean cycle before they posted pictures. Good grief!!!

You Would Think They Would Run A SC Cycle

Bob they probably have no idea how to do it and what do you want to bet that they bought a new Gas Range, LOL.

I'll go you one better - I've known people who had no Earthly idea their range even was a self-cleaner. If the range comes with the house, and the owner is the kind of person who can be around stuff and not really see it, you end up with someone who's amazed that they have an oven that cleans itself.

Do not ask me how someone can completely overlook the presence of an oven door latch lever and a "Clean" setting on the timer, but trust me, there are some very Incurious Georges out there.

We have that 50s HP range in the double oven version in our collection. The donors were so glad that it was not going to be crushed. The young couple called us after an article about our collection appeared in the Post. They had moved it to their basement in hopes of saving it for someone who would want it and would take care of it as they had.
