Today, a real weired, but interresting thought came to my mind.
I thought about all the VIPs in all of our members countrys and which washers they use? Does our Angela Merkel use a Miele Supertronic or ans BSH? Did Obama wash his shirts in a SQ or rather LG first? And what the hell is Kim Jong-un using? (Or better his servants?)
And last but not least: Does the Queen really use a Hotpoint or would she rather choose any other brands for her beddings?
What do you think?

Surely one could contact Buckingham Palace and ask which brand(s) of washing machine are used in HM's royal laundry rooms...Ditto the White House...Now you've got my curiosity piqued....

Commercial machines in the White House in the Clinton era.

The Queen wouldn't use a Hotpoint anyway, her royal crest used to appear on Hoover machines, after a factory visit by HM in 1977(?). On this Hoover you can see it in the bottom right on the soap dispenser.

I think none of the people you've mentioned above even know what's washing machine, or if they know, they don't use it, they have other people to do that stuff ;)

Ahh, I don't think so.
The Queen of course will not do anything I guess.
Obama maybe once in a while on holliday or so.
Kim Jong-Un is still in the age of handwashing (keep in mind, the A-bomb was invented the same time as fully automatics!)
But Merkel will do a lot on her own! German politicians have some work, but still are not that "rich" or special that they don't do their own laundry!

HM Queen Elizabeth

I think I heard that the Queens clothing is hand laundered.

Due to the nature of her clothes, it would make sense.

Also on public appearances, she has an identical duplicate outfit to change into, incase of any accidents.

I'm sure there are machines in the Royal Household.

I will keep an eyeout, as any product used in the Royal House for 5 years or more, is entitled to have the Royal Crest on it, this is by HM appointment to the company/product concerned.

Come to think of it, I would put money on it that Hoover washers had the Royal crest on them (this would have been 20 years or so ago when Hoover washers were manufactured in the UK)

YES

Yes, it was Hoover.

The Royal Warrant was removed when Hoover had the free flights fiasco.

This fiasco was generally accepted as being the reason when Hoover's UK division was sold to Candy in Italy.

A friend of mine in Munich had a Hoover washer/dryer combo that still had the Royal Warrant on it and that was in 2005. Not sure when he bought it though. It was fairly new back then as I recall.
