I say this is a 1960 or 1961, the last of the solid tubs.

Thanks Guys, This machine is white. It is in the garage and the shadows make it look darker. The tub is not solid, and the filter flo pan was in the machine!

Awsome!

I'd guess 1962. Buttons are (left to right): Wash Speed, Spin Speed, Wash Temp, Rinse Temp, Suds Return.

Yay for Filter-Flo. They do have a special place in the washer kingdom.

Hi Don, wow that is a great find! It has to be about a 1962 model. In 1961 the lid was still square, but they went to a perforted tub. In 1962 they still had the control panel on legs, but went to the angeled lid and move the filter flo nozzel to the 1:00 position. How about some interior pictures? Pleazzzzzzzzzze.

Good catch. Looks like the one we had when I was a little kid. That one had the perforated tub, filter-flo, and the same control dial but in black, the rest of the exterior was white.

Robert, the control panel on stilts was more a marker of place in the line up than year. We had this model with mini wash and witout sudssaver. It was one of the models just below the TOL, some of which had a thumb-wheel operated laundry guide in the curve of the light lens, and had a grand fluorescent light. The next model down had the control panel on the washer top and only had 1 key for speed so that wash action and speed could not be selected independently. Right after this year, GE went to the sloping control panels that sat right on the top of the machines, the apotheosis of which is in one of the PODs with the 3 red lights showing where to start the different cycles named on the big buttons. Interesting that they carried that form for all these many decades.

Another '62

Here's another 1962 Filter-Flo. Not quite as fancy as Don's, but it is a 2-speed, separate wash and rinse water temperature controls, 3 water levels, elevated console. No fluorescent lamp.

Hi Don

Now that looks like a Classic Washer, the panel is Retro at its best...IMHO...

Looking forward to seeing the switches and insides..nothing like a FilterFlo to pull the appliance heartstrings...

Enjoy, Mike

At Last!

Wow! At last, that is the machine I have been looking for, for ever and ever and ever. Is there another one out there anywhere?? Grandma had one like it when I was little and a matching dryer with the raised timer but the timer panel didn't go all the way across it just had the Timer and not the lighted section.
