Hi there, here are some pics of my Philips T635 / AWB135 washing machine.

I get this for free because the spin didn't started due to worn carbon brushes.

It's the entry level model so the second rinse has a heating sequence because it is the start of the 30°C delicate program (n°5), the next three rinses did a gentle action even when you did a washing with normal action.
(it's designed like this for have just one cycle so the timer is more simple and less expensive).

Electrical circuits are a bit uncommon, the heating element is connected in series with the motor and its electronic control circuit, so the motor is shorted when the heating sequence (the high end models have an electronic temperature control too).

The spin speed is adjustable from 200 to 550 rpm (the T800 series reaches 750 rpm), this speed is controlled by a very simple electronic module (nor ic's, nor microprocessor neither tachometer, just a pair of thyristors and diodes and some resistors and capacitors).
The motor is a DC type with permanent magnet, it is made in Italy.

Of course this machine did a "spin drain" (spinning starts at 200 rpm and increases until the tub empties).

This is a very easy machine to service, all parts are accessible when you took apart the body.

You can see in the background a diy done by my father to move more easily the air compressor !

Hi statomatic.

Thanks for the photos and very surprised to see a coppertone Philips! Was the AWB135 available in other white as well, or was the 135 only coppertone?

Have just watched your videos - with your eyes closed, you can still tell that it is a Philips. Such a unique motor sound.

Paul

Hi Statomatic

Great machine too and love the access with the casing off. That plastic chassis is something else. For all my Slimstar wobbles a bit on spin it is quite stable overall so perhaps that's why they moved to the plastic. I guess the spin speed on yours is quite a bit slower too.

I love all the variants there too Paul. Great pics

As mentioned before, but should be said in this thread too, there is a big difference between the 45cm and the 40cm wide models. The 45cm ones were made in the UK, the 40cm ones in France. The design is quite different too, albeit both had the spindrain sequence. But spindrains were more common back then.

The AWB135 also available in white, but I prefer brown machines because they are more unusual (and I like unusual things because I'm not like everyone else!).

Glad you liked the videos, I didn't thought they was still online because I stopped to use YT since the infamous google+ appeared.

Internal view before cleaning the dispenser.
From left to right it's: softener, main wash and prewash.
There is a place for the bleach dispenser but it is used only on the T800 series.
