A friend of mine had this same Hotpoint bought new around the same time.  It was still in use until a couple of years ago when replaced with a small, white something during a kitchen update.  They aren't that rare and for that price, they'll have plenty of time to figure that out.

One like that was my sister's first microwave. She kept it for a least 10 years.

Yes, the GE JET series of microwaves had that same shape.

I remember those micros back in the day-

Also remember the Micro-Go-Rounds considering that I have one that I use in my micro. My mother gave it to me after her first micro went up and she bought a turntable unit. My micro is 30 yrs. old, full size, w/o a turntable. It's a KM and still going strong.

I don't plan on replacing it til it gives up the ghost. (Hopefully, I didn't just jinx myself.) ;)

My Mom used to have the GE Jet microwave that looked like the Hotpoint one shown.Mechanical timers and everything-first microwave she and I used.Worked well.
