AMANA TOUCHMATIC RADARANGE :
Ad: " This is an original ... one of the best microwave ovens ever built; a 1981 Amana touchmatic 700 watt oven with more chrome than a '57 Buick . It still works fine with no issues other than age, and is built like a tank unlike this new junk you get at Wal Mart. Comes with use & care manual, cookbook and temp probe for meats. The touch pad is still in perfect working order and easy to program plus you can SEE it. Call Bob at .." |

Ad reads:
" AMANA RADAR RANGE MICROWAVE OVEN my parents purchased this new in 1986 for $388 and I have both the receipt and the books. It does have a little damage to the front panel but it does not hinder the operation. They do not make quality like this anymore & it still works great!" Toby,
I've actually started offering parts through my RR website. Used, of course, but serviceable. I've helped quite a few people keep their machines "on the road" when everyone else has told them "junk it"! The reason isn't too surprising, most owners have an emotional attachment to their RR and want to keep it going. Such a relationship doesn't seem to develop with modern junk. That 4D above in Ely looks like an early one. -Cory |

OOH-OOH, the RR-8A was my first Radar-range. At the time, about 1978, it had the Cookmatic levels while the Touchmatic only had high and slo-cook. |
