hey all has anyone ever had one of these apart to try and fix oil leaks? I know its just nature of the beast to leak oil but I wonder if trying to find seals would be worth the time and effort or not.. the machine is going to be painted a darker brown on the bottom half so that should help hide any leaks in the future, and im kinda not sure how low the oil level really is or if I should just put some in..

Hi Chris,

Jim from Ohio (wringer) was kind enough to send me pages from the parts manual. The page I've attached shows the cork gasket. In your machine, it may have deterioriated - I assume mine has to some degree as well. My machine has a few spots where oil VERY slowly seeps out, but nothing major, so I just periodically wipe it off. I guess you have to guage how severe your leak is. As I mentioned in the e-mail, you can always squirt a little heavy-weight oil or grease into the port - say, a 1/2 cup just to be sure it's not dry. Turn the vent cap while the machine is running to see if oil gurgles out - if so, it's full enough!

yea I guess just living with it is the best I don't see a way to take the trans out without taking the whole machine apart and im not up for that ha ha.. I wonder if they make some sort of additive for cars that helps puff up seals im gonna have to check
