After Katrina, I had to store some machines in my dad's workshop ... then life got in the way. After a long sleep, its time to wake some of the girls up.

Good to see you, other than at Christmas card time! These are incredible machines, I'd forgotten about your Philco - Ford washer. Hope to see them back at your home and churning away on the weekly wash soon.

Glad to see both, but especially the Philco. That is almost the washer I grew up with, but I think it had another knob where yours says 3 Cycle. Still have the Flex-A-Wash cap.

Can't be many Philcos of that vintage in any condition!

Mid 1960's Philco Washer!!!!

That was my Great Granmother's Washer (on my Father's side)!!!

Last saw one in 1976, when I saw it sitting in her yard and a shiney new Speed Queen was in her kitchen.

But if I could recall correctly, I thought the one my Great Grandmother had HAD a another knob on it in the same place where the "3 Cycle" emblem is.

I also remember seeing the one we had HAD a MORE flush top rather than the MORE extended one I am seeing on this one.

And who could forget that Blue Top on that Agitator?? And the lid opening on right as opposed to the left unlike our 24" BOL Kenmore.

And it was quiet when it was agitating too. I remember that machine like it was yesterday. It definitely had the General Control Panel as this one I'm seeing here.

I haven't seen one of these in almost 40 Years.

Definitely, Memory Lane material right here.

Glad to see you're getting the washers out of storage. They look no worse for their extended nap. The Philco is a rare machine to find, but I like the solid tub Hotpoint with the Roto-Swirl-like agitator, too.

I was thinking about you and these very machines last week (along with the 1/18 pair).

Oh wow, can't wait to see more of these babies!! The Philco looks wonderful and I love that Hotpoint fountain-flo! I think I know where a matching dryer to that one is hiding, if you might be interested...

You've got the Hotpoint I've lusted for for YEARS! Great to see one still in existence. Please make some videos of this washer doing it's thing. Haven't seen one in operation since the very early 70's

Thanks

Thanks for all of the comments. I hope that all is well with you folks. The hotpoint is indeed a solid tub model. Hey, Bob, you are correct; I do have the dryer in gas. The Philco has alot of surface rust down low on the cabinet; that comes with living in the south ... but, the washer was only used for 1 year and belonged to my my dad's cousin. Will try to get some videos soon. The Avocado 1-18 set are my daily drivers.
