Lighted top, most likely...

Sensi-Temp, I do believe this was an opportunity to discontinue that feature, as there is no provision for it on the surface...

And except for some fairy just-introduced new smoothtop electrics, there is probaby no chance thermostatically controlled burners exist these days... (Even on gas or open coil-model electrics)
