Blue trim center dial Maytag drier in Chattanooga for $40

Ad reads: "Nice Dryer works great couple years old. It doesn't always turn off so we have a kitchen timer that works great and we time it using that otherwise clothes get too hot. No other problems with it. "

If by "few years" they mean "Several Decades" yeah, it's a few years old....

Nope!

From the little picture, that looks like a 606 or 406, several models down in the line. For starters, it does not have the console light a DE806 would.

It also has three timed cycles on the dial: Regular, Permanent Press and Air Fluff so it is not an electronic control dryer which eliminates the 606. Given the fact that they have to use the minute timer in the kitchen, this dryer could be billed as having a remote timer, albeit one that does not shut off the dryer. Long story short, the dryer needs a new timer or the timer needs some work.

Try 40 or more!

Years old!!LOL, My Aunt in Georgia has one, the control is bad on it, she goes by about every 10 minutes and pushes the button until the clothes are dry...

I see many center dial Maytags on the local ads but I still can't find a DE-806 to match my washer. Some time ago, someone in Montreal advertised a set of Maytags in Montreal but he took a picture on the web, (visibly from this site) of a 806 set.

Most are also below 606 without the electronic control.

Still I found a matching washer for the dryer above on Craigslist but the asking price and condition are questionable! And it's probably 8 years older than what the seller thinks it is! (I'm wondering if he'd ask more if he knew that!).
