"the paint on the top is flawless with good color"

That would be because it's porcelain, not paint.

Lord, what Whirlpool has done to reset consumer expectations on quality....

If you're talking about Maytag's last few years as an independent company, after they introduced the Neptune, I would not disagree with you.

This has been listed here several times now.

But I doubt it's going anywhere at this price. Nice looking machine though.

Is this really from '58? I have this exact same dryer (it's a PDE701) and it's from '61.

This has nothing to do with this model, specifically, but can these panel lights have dimmer control?
Don't laugh, I would put these on as night lights in my laundry/pantry area, if I could dim those lights.

Also, on these vintage machines, has anyone implemented L.E.D. lighting on panels? I'm JUST asking, so purists and collectors....I understand that's not going to happen.

Actually this dryer is not from 1958

because Maytag did not introduce its Electronic Control Dryer until 1960 and the main giveaway that this an Electronic Control Dryer is the timer dial which would have a timed dry cycle only and 3 temperature buttons if the dryer were a 1958 model…PAT COFFEY
