Didn't someone here say , run from everything that Montgomery Wards sold in appliances?

Who would have made this freezer, GE..?

Very similar to the one in our basement that has been running continuously since new.  I think ours may be a year newer.  It has pink interior and lacks the metal trim on the door shelves.

I don't know who the manufacturer is, although it has been mentioned here in the past.  Whoever it is, they are the exception to the general rule about Wards appliances being junk.

Here's a picture of it during a seriously needed defrosting.  Kick plate removed to make room for the drain pan.

Exterior shot.  Handle looks the same, just positioned horizontally instead of vertically.

Westinghouse

Made it, the handle in the picture is even identical to a WH.

Cool, thanks norgeway...I thought it looked like the exception - I wouldn't kick it out of my ...basement. :-)

Knock on wood!

The freezer went into the basement before the configuration at the top of the steps changed, and it won't come back up easily or without removing a built-in shelf unit.

I'm in denial and hoping it keeps running for as long as we're in here.

I prefer the look of the one in the ad.  The light blue liner suggests it's cold inside, and the exterior trim is attractive.
