I would rather have a 40 inch, but sure would take a 30 like this! This is the one I have talked about that has the big square pushbuttons, Aunt Mable had a 40 inch,2 oven, and my Great Aunt Winnie had a 30 inch exactly like this, the left rear hi button is red and says Extra High Heat!
A GE its a Hotpoint , I think this style was made from 60-about 64 or so, im not sure exactly....if I had to pick, I would take one of these over a GE just because of great Memories of 2 good cooks, My aunt Mable, "Dads sister" had the divided top 40 inch with 2 oven, she was probably the best all around cook I ever saw, didnt matter if it was gourmet or country, she could do it, she was also the most fastidious houskeeper I ever saw, everything was absolutely spotless!!.. Aunt Winnie, my Mothers Aunt, was just a good old fashioned southern cook, A Registered Nurse, she managed to raise a huge garden and was always fixing something good...the bEST yeast rolls I ever tasted, and she made them every Sunday...also She drove a 62 white Super 88 Olds with red bucket seats when I was a kid.
Both were VERY outspoken!!LOL, both of them smoked like chimneys and were not above saying a cuss word or two if the situation called for it!..Aunt Mable was known for driving her sons car...either a 67 442 Olds, or later a 70 Z-28...Once my cousin Noel was with her in the Z-28..They pulled up at the main stoplight leading into Lenoir ,when some high school kids pulled along side...one of them yelled, hey granny, what are you going to do with that car..then they began laughing and making fun...Noel, who was about 10 at the time, said Aunt Mable said, " Honey ,hold on and watch THIS!", When the light changed, She left them standing in a cloud of tire smoke.."Little sonsabitches! she said!!!Wonder if they will laugh now!
